We have this and the speedo kick board. This kick board is a little smaller than the speedo kick board but perfect size for my young swimmer. I also like the design and the ridges on these kick board compares to the speedo one that it helps my swimmer grag on better. The buoyancy is very compatible between both I see no difference. For the price of the item I would recommend to other young swimmer. It's great quality, reasonable priced and comfortable.

Environmentally friendly EVA material is not easily deformed, sturdy and durable!Thickness 1.25” high density hard floating boardProvides a good helper for learning to swim due to floating instability. It helped me learn how to breathe while swimming! The size is just right for me, I can easily use it without any burden.

Banana for scale. 🙂 I got the smaller of the two sizes for portability & storage purposes although I'm an adult; it provides sufficient buoyancy for me and is very sturdy. Very good value for the price!

I ordered this because my daughter loves using the ones in swim class. This thing is SOLID. It is at least an inch thick and very sturdy. I was a Little concerned it May be a Little flimsy but that is not the case. It’s otherwise the same size as the kickboards at our local pool, so nothing surprising there.

I found it to be exactly as the listing says. I've had no issues with it.

This kick board is a single piece of foam, very dense and thick, and it is solid. It's exactly what I expect from a kick board as far as construction goes. The size is much smaller than "standard" kick boards. It's easy to pack in gym bag and travel with.It works great for good swimmers who are using for kick training, as it's unobtrusive, and the smaller size and shape make it easy to have good form for kicking drills. Since I'm using mostly for kick training, I'm quite happy with the size. It's not as good for beginner or casual swimmers who need more lift/float and aren't as concerned with drilling. For these swimmers, I'd get the larger size in this same brand.

I’ve been trying to swim once a week and have been looking for ways to add some variety to my workouts—this kickboard is just what I needed (I add 25 yard kick segments throughout my swims now). It’s sturdy and small enough to fit in my regular gym backpack. Glad I bought this and well with the $15 price.

What am I reviewing?I am reviewing Kemp USA’s Small Kickboard for Swimming. How did this arrive? As is, but in a non-retail clear, flimsy plastic bag, that was stapled shut, who staples plastic bags? – disappointing, considering the price at the time I selected this. A very generic, commodity like presentation, disappointing.Giftable? Not really, due to the lack of provenance surrounding this; it arrived in a flimsy plastic bag, no tags, no brochure, no instructions, nothing. If I gave this to someone, they would have no product knowledge whatsoever, plus it could look like a regift or worse, used. It’s a negative.Initial impression. In hand, this is, all around, much smaller than I envisioned.Dimensions?Narrow, with a maximum width of just (9¾”) and a maximum length of just (15.25"). The only positive is that it is thick, at about (1.125”) and not the (1¼”) noted in the listing, that’s a negative.Weight?Under (12) ounces. Is it sturdy?Yes, it’s sturdy, because, in part, it is small but thick (plus the material this is made from). How about cleaning? No instructions given. I used a mild detergent and a soft scrub brush, then let it sit in the sun to dry.Does it absorb water?Weighing this after it was in the water showed no increase in weight.Material used to make?EVA foam, which is the better, versus plain foam.Chip? So far, no, but it is shredding at the edges.Durable?Seems so, other than the shredding at the edges.Soft edge?In my opinion? No. This has what I would consider square edges, plus they are shredding. I think it’s a negative.Ergonomic design? No, not at all. There were no indentations nor cut outs. I think it’s a negative.Country of origin? It just says manufactured by kemp USA. What does that mean? Manufactured where exactly? Plus, are the components from domestic or imported sources.Buoyancy? It’s all about buoyancy when selecting a kickboard. A new swimmer typically wants a larger more buoyant board, I opine this is not it and I regret selecting this for my new swimmer.Easy to carry?Yes, because small, no because no cut-outs for palm and fingers.Does it fold? No.Is it effective?I think it could have been better. How so?Larger and thicker would have helped buoyancy, but again, my use was for a new swimmer.Value? The current retail price, under ($11) is considerably lower than when I selected this. So, at the value I selected this at, I did not find the value I expected. The lower price helps a tad, but I did not select this at the lower price, so it did not help me, but it shows what the market voted, a significantly smaller price from when I selected it [1st week of September 2024).When am I reviewing this?Mid-October 2024.Surface of board?Textured, somewhat anti-slip.Warranty?Nothing provided with the board.Customer service contact?Nothing provided with the board, no eMail, address, no telephone number, no physical address, nothing.Any certifications?I do not see any certifications whatsoever, which is typical. However, having some sort of certifications would have been more impressive.Such as?Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) safety standards and/or CPSIA [US Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) of 2008. CSPIA specifically targets children's products. CPSIA defines children's products as any product designed or intended primarily for use by children aged 12 or younger].RoHS and/or REACH certified?NoREACH stands for?Registration, Evaluation, Authorization, and Restriction of Chemicals.RoHS stands for?Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS).What about RoHS and REACH?They implement rules and/or certify products were not made with the use of hazardous substances, to protect the environment and public health. One hand operation?Yes, it’s possible.Date of manufactureUnknownReceived when?October 2024.Is this perfect? Not in my eyes.Rating?Based on the totality of the above, this is three (3) stars, at best, for me.I hope my thoughts added information.
