Poorly made and overpriced. Stitching came apart and the handle you pick the pack up with broke after a short while. They only warranty this $135 pack for one year from purchase. This was a gift for my daughter.

I have been searching for a backpack I actually want to keep and I really like this one. There is a side zipper the length of the bag for your laptop, then a larger compartment for misc items, there is a smaller compartment that I usually put my iPad in but you can use it to clip your helmet to the bag. Ok the front there are some mini pockets for smaller belongs. I have pens in one and my airports, chapstick, tissues in the other to easily grab. One side has a water bottle holder and the other has a smaller sipper pocket

I’ve been using the Kerrits EQ Backpack for over a year now and honestly, it’s been a total game changer. I use it for lessons, shows and even took it on a riding trip to Ireland. The helmet net on the outside is genius, it kept my helmet super secure while traveling, even through airports and all that chaos. The design is just really well thought. There’s so many pockets to keep all my stuff organzed—spurs, hairnets, makeup kit, crop, water bottle, gloves, snacks, chapstick, a change of clothes...you name it, it fits. And somehow it never feels too bulky or heavy to carry, even when it’s stuffed full.If you’re thinking about getting one, I’d say go for it! It’s perfect for barn days and trips alike. I also got the matching Kerrits garment bag and boot bag, which just makes everything look so nice and pulled together. Feels fancy, but super functional too.

We love this backpack! It's perfect for my young riders. It has enough room for everything they need to take to school and the barn. The quality is excellent—very durable—and I appreciate the cushioned shoulder straps. My favorite feature is the variety of pockets, along with the subtle yet clever horse bit chevron print. I got one for each of my kids in all three colors.

We took a chance on this, as there aren't too many reviews (and the zipper one had me sweating), but my daughter loves and lives in Kerrits on a daily basis so we trust the brand and I took the plunge. New to the show realm, I had zero clue as to the best method for my daughter to carry her gear so we tried every combination imaginable--boot bag with helmet pocket attached (huge, bulky, bigger than her, she nearly fell over); duffel bag, boot bag, helmet bag, garment bag (way too much for a tween), etc. and so forth--and this Mothership of backpacks was the undisputed champion. Kerrits put so much immense thought and care into its design, it warrants a descriptive review worthy of its merits. This superhero pack streamlines the prep process to basically contain every possible thing you could need for a day at the barn or the show (besides your tall boots/jacket), in one place; a huge relief. The nuances and incredibly well-thought out details of this durable, beautifully organized bag aren't fully pictured in the product photos, so I'll lay it out and how we use it, starting with the back of the bag. Just behind the amazingly comfortable, well-padded faux-leather straps at the very back there is "the first section," which is a flat, padded, fully-enclosed/separate zippered-in area where you can put a couple clean changes of clothes, or dirty clothes, after the fact. (Not big enough for boots, even paddock boots, it's a flat section--although you could put gloves, notebook, helmet cover, iPad, laptop, etc. We put a back-up set of show clothes, sans jacket, and comfy clothes for the ride home, inside.)Next is the very spacious, roomy "center of the bag" section. This is actually where we put her show helmet (more protective in the dusty ring environment), Kerrits breeches (natch), shirt, gloves, hair net and ties, brush, everything she needed to be show ready, etc. to keep it clean and in one isolated, easily accessible area. (You could easily fit paddock boots in here, if needed.)Next, the third or "front section" of the bag, another roomy separate area, but replete with amazing Home Edit level organizing pockets: one wide back inner pocket where we put a book, small notebook, make-up bag and wallet; next are three smaller pockets where we put tissues, hand wipes, hand sanitizer, pens/pencils, lotion, lip balm. In front, within the same organizer section is a very roomy area where we were able to fit a full gallon-size baggie (!) with a day's worth of snacks and fruit for her and BFF, with room to spare. Unreal. (We didn't use the very front outer "helmet hammock" rollout/clip/tuck option for the show, but have for lessons with her training helmet and it's great.) For the advanced equestrian, there are some (tack) surprises in this pocket for you, and on the side of the bag.Now for the outside--there's a zippered, padded/soft-lined pocket at the top of the bag for sunglasses or a phone. (We put the former in.) Easily fit a 24 oz Stanley in the side mesh pocket, with a carabiner through the loop above it (brilliant) to keep it secure, and filled the other side's zipper enclosure pocket with sunblock and bug spray. (Then we put a cool horse luggage tag, see my reviews, on the convenient, often used padded top loop handle which was helpful to identify it in the sea of bags or in case it was lost.)I'm telling you, these Queens at Kerrits thought of EVERYTHING--and then some--with this incredible Rolls Royce of Equestrian, or any, backpacks. And everything is kept so secure, so contained, so easily accessible but in it's place, it's extraordinary. We were so impressed (as a mom, I've never been so deeply satisfied with packing a bag containing this level of intuitive organization, it was a dream) that we purchased the rest of the matching set (garment bag for Kerrits show jacket, etc, and boot bag for shows, duffel for travel) in Navy and it's gorgeous and worth every penny. (I even got a black one for myself!)We've found the zippers to be excellent, sturdy and solid, withstanding all the ins and outs of many items, now having taken the beating of several outings, from vans to barns to dirt, to bleachers and back again. It wipes clean and the bit pattern is the icing on the cake. The leatherette accents are well-placed and functional, protecting the bag to withstand whatever bumps, stones, earth, friction and pony comes its way. The quality, design and craftsmanship of this amazing backpack is outstanding in every way and we couldn't be happier. Thank you, Kerrits--we are truly grateful. Fans for life.
