Hubby wanted to try a charging pad in his F150 truck; this says its made for an Explorer so I figured we'd give it a go. It fits in the tray below his 12v outlet, so that's good. We tried to use it while on a camping trip and had trouble. My phone has a mag-safe case on it, apparently this is the problem. I had to take my case off, and then the phone charged. It's inconvenient for me - who wants to take their case off every time they get in the car and need to charge a phone?!?! My bigger issue, though, is that the phone got SO HOT while charging! I was almost afraid it was going to explode. We were in the truck with the A/C running, so it wasn't a hot environment, but the phone still got really hot. Like, it hurt to hold onto it hot. That makes me nervous.

After getting a loaner car with wireless charging, it occurred to me that wireless phone charging while driving might not just be limited to people with newer cars and those with cars in the service bay at the dealership. Then this KEWISAUTO Wireless Charger for 2020-2024 Ford Explorer, USB Ports Center Console Charging Panel Fast Phone Charger Pad for Ford Explorer popped up on the Vine and I had the potential to realize my wireless charging dreams.Granted, the 20-24 Explorer has more open, available space for charging so you wouldn't have to entirely stash your phone to charge, but I've never let a lack of space deter me from bringing home grand pianos and farm equipment, so why should it deter my wireless charging dreams? The 2016 Navigator has a lot of open space, but not a lot of open confined space (which is part of why I love it, and no, have not yet tried bringing a grand piano home in it, but pretty sure I could). My options were the bottom of the console (which wrecks my other console plans) or making a slide out tray that would secure under the seat when oblivious passengers got in (who might need charging, but who might not have wireless charging installed on their person). That worked, but required me leaning over the console to grab the phone and/or forgetting the phone in the car, so I relocated to just behind the passenger seat and used the back port. This was perfect for longer trips in the car (love my retractable super-fast charger for quick trips) when I'm already blue-toothed up for hands-free audio. The charger worked as intended and the surface was tactile enough to keep the phone contained on quick stops and hard corners. If I could find a way to keep it all cooled off enough and somehow charge vertically, that would be ideal, but given the heat generated by charging, I hesitate to contain the phone and charger too much while in action (I'm in the desert - it's just hot here from late April until October and your phone can overheat while charging merely by being in the sun).Charged fine through my OEM Samsung portfolio without having to remove it (the portfolio showing a little wear after 1.5 years, so it's possible a new, thicker, more intact one might obscure some charge potential? Not sure, but if I get a new phone cover, will update).Granted, the beauty of this design for the Explorer is to have your phone in your console for easy access and to have the tray fit as intended for the vehicle, but for now, with lots of peripherals plugged in while driving, I appreciate having a wireless option for all items that accept wireless charging.Good investment, and for those of you with Explorers, congratulations on having a designated space for your charger!Five stars whether or not you're doing FoMoCo Explorations - you can make it work!

Works perfectly but didn’t come with any instructions. It’s easily understood though.

This fit perfectly into the console where the charging ports are. The phone doesn't slide around and not make connection for charging. I have only needed it for short distances so I'm not sure how fast it charges from depleted battery. It is easy to install and use.

I placed this in the tray at the front of the console in a 2018 Ford Fusion, plugged it in, and placed the phone on the rubber pad. Bingo! Wireless charging and a perfect fit in the Fusion console. Comes with 3M tape to hold in place but it looks like it’s not going to be needed in this application. Much better than fighting with the standard Qi charger device.

This worked instantly with both an IPhone and a Samsung phone. The phones sit very nicely on the pad. It has connecting ports for cables also so you can charge one phone wireless and another wired. My problem is the chord is so short it can not be used in other vehicles unless they have a very short distance from plug to flat surface. The charger is fairly large and does not work in 2 of our 3 vehicles. Pretty short sighted of the manufacturer. Making it more versatile would make more people buy it.

Great upgrade to add a second wireless charging pad. The pad is a good fit in the front console compartment and the wiring for the pad is well thought out and stays out of the way when using the compartment.
