After my factory pump blew up, this worked like a charm. Remember to drain the water for winter.

The install instructions were OK. Did not have torque values for the pump bolts. Take care not to overtighten the bolts as they are going into a cast aluminum housing. Also, make sure the key does not fall out of the keyway as you will have to uninstall the pump and reinstall. I found this out the hard way when I cranked up the engine and no pressure spray. The key can fall off inside the pump and you do not know it until you start the motor.

5+! This pressure pump is a direct bolt-on replacement and improvement for the indicated Honda pressure washer engine. 4 bolts. Easy if you are mechanically inclined. It is a big improvement from my original stock water pump, in terms of pressure generated.

Fit perfectly and does a great job. Brought my old unit back to life. Glad I didn't have to get rid of the Honda engine as it still works great after 20 plus years.

While this is still fresh in my mind thought I'd tell you all about this little pump (with some install experience at the end). From the time I turned on the water, fired the engine and cut loose on the house I was about as happy as one can imagine some fool with a new pump would be. First It's design saved my 20 year old pressure, it felt like a brand new machine, the old pump fell apart and as you know a new one can't be found. Second it's well priced since the Honda engine will out live me and there's no value in junking a otherwise perfectly good machine for want of a part. The pump itself is well designed, nicely machined and easy to install.Let me augment the instruction you will receive with the pump. You will need to remove the old pump cover from the washer, it's held down by 2 8mm hex head screws, I needed a 1/4 drive 8mm socket, 5" extension and a ratchet. That gets the screws out, if your cover has never been removed the hose connection will not pass through the cover, I had taken mine off before by enlarging the hole in the cover by cutting chunks until it went through. With the cover off you will need a 13mm combination wrench (a socket and ratchet are to be to used) to unbolt the old pump. The bolts have been in forever and are somewhat stuck in place. I used a shot of PBlaster on each. Even with that the bolts would not turn and the shade tree mechanic in me said put the box end of the wrench on the bolt and give it a good whack until the bolt turned. That worked, no need to kill it, just whack it good. Next the old pump still will not come off, the allen set screw needs to come out first. There is a access opening in the shaft of the old pump, gently turn the shaft until you see the opening. You will see the set screw. I used an allen wrench set with multiple wrenchs so I don't know what size it was but when you try to turn it it's going to resist. Once that's out the old pump will fall off. I needed to use emery paper to clean the motor shaft so the new pump would slide on easily. I needed to clean the key-way as well. If you have to force the new pump to seat something is wrong, don't force it. I bumped the end of the new pump with my hand and it went right on, bolts fit, use a cross ear pattern to tightened the bolts so you don't strain them.wonder if I'm to wordy?

I purchased this Excel Devilbiss pump to replace the original pump on my Excel 2500 pressure washer (15 years old). The original pump flew apart earlier this week but the Honda engine was still in excellent working order so I was pleased to find an aftermarket pump designed to work with my unit. As others have said, the fit was perfect and installation was very easy. The new pump is more compact than the original and there is no question that I have considerably more pressure with the new pump. I used the repaired pressure washer to finish the job I started earlier in the week and I couldn't be more pleased with how it performed. I depend on reviews when I am considering a purchase of this nature and I have to say that the positive reviews that persuaded me to make this purchase were right on the money. I wanted to share my own experience as a guide for others. If your existing pressure washer is in need of a replacement pump, the Devilbiss is well worth the investment.

This pump rejuvenated my 13 year old pressure washer. It took longer to install than the YouTube videos predicted. It took me almost an hour to get the 8 hex head screws out of the plastic shroud. The pressure washer runs great. It is quieter with more pressure AND it no longer "walks around" because the new pump does not vibrate. I needed tech support at 2pm on a Saturday. I had a problem that the quick release unit that came with new pump was too tight and would not click on to the hose. I got a response in about 30 minutes that resolved the problem. I probably won't ever need another pump, but if I do I will get it from this company.
