Hand in the picture for size reference. The shopping cart is small- like doll size. The plastic is cheap and and flimsy and. It is somewhat annoying to put together. The cash register/scanner takes 2 AA's and works, although we have had to take the batteries out once when it stopped working and reput them in for it to start working again. With all that being said- it is my daughters favorite toy. SHe has not stopped playing with it for multiple hours. Therefore, know what you are buying- its cheap plastic but fun for a little one
