This harness is well-made and easy to fit on the kids, and the back of the harness is made of meshed fabric with a little added pad cushion protection, along with ventilation. The pulling straps are both adjustable length about 10 feet. Great guidance tool for beginner kids!

The backpack/harness is really cute. It fits my 2.5 year old perfectly. This is more for skiing than for snowboarding, but right now we haven’t moved to anything steep on the snowboard so I basically just pull her while I’m walking next to her, and this harness works perfectly for that since I don’t have to hold her by the armpits and destroy my back. My daughter even likes “hitting jumps” when I’m holding her.

I got this to use with my 3 year old who i'm teaching how to snowboard. I wasn't too sure if it would work for snowboarding, but so far it has done great. My daughter also likes putting a few of her things inside and feels safe comfortable wearing it while I hold it. The length is long enough to wear I can ride while holding her, and not have to worry about running into her.

My son used these on his ski trip with friends this weekend and they were a hit! (I got 2.) Everyone was joking around and laughing and teasing until we got down to business and my son felt very safe and secure and so did I instead of all these other kids flying off the sides of the path or getting ran over by other skiers. You can never be too safe and that exactly what we were and we had an absolute blast. It's very sturdy and sewn together well the seams are very strong and it clamps to gather multiple sizes but it fit my 8 year old perfectly and we worked together very well with it.

It will probably work, just could be better. I'm going to return and try to find one that fits a small child better.Fit issues:- The sternum strap can only tighten down to 6" between shoulder straps, in contrast a car seat holds the straps about 2" apart. The strap can extend much longer than necessary though.- The waist strap extends out to 50" this makes for a lot of extra strap to tie out of the way.- The control lines are heavy, for some reason they are 1.5" wide straps, while the straps that will be digging into your kid when you pick him up out of the snow or lift him onto the chairlift are only 1" wide.

We got this harness/backpack for our boys that are 6 and 8 to start teaching them how to ski and snowboard. We haven't taken it out on the mountain but just in our snowy yard for sizing etc. Some nice features that I like:- The straps (packed inside the bag) are stretchy so they have some give for control- There are several loops on both sides of the bag for adjusting comfort and usability of the harness.- The control straps have decent rubber grips and loops- backpack is pretty small but that is good for smaller kids- lots of adjustments to fit the bag closer to the childA few concerns that I don't know if they will be an issue in the future:- The chest strap seems too high. It's fairly close to my kids neck which is a bit concerning but maybe in full gear it won't be an issue.- The way the straps connect to the loops is by carabiner and the carabiners don't appear to be heavy duty and could potentially not be rated for this use. I don't know but be aware especially attaching this to your kid.

I love the High Stream Gear brand. They make quality ski products that capture the essence of the challenges we skiers face. And there is no more gripping an ordeal than teaching your little mini-me to ski without fear. I don't want to tame my spunky kid's wild abandon. I just don't want him hurt or escaping my reach when he decides he has wings to fly! And as much as he wants to be on his own, I know that his confidence comes from being tied to me skiing behind him, far enough away but still in control. It's a win-win when done right. This harness is smartly designed and ruggedly constructed, in catchy vivid colors, to make my little skier feel like the gear is for the big guys when he is wearing it. He enjoys suiting up, it's HIS backpack and the point of being tethered doesn't come to the forefront. Sometimes when there is no downhill he is NOT tethered, just wearing the harness and backpack like real skiers do. When I grab the reins it is "Don't lose mommy!" and not the other way around. Let me also mention, on two occasions, when we went to a very busy mall during a 50% SALE frenzy, and then at an outdoor concert that was packed, I had him wear this harness, without the backpack, telling him it will show everyone you're a skier, when it was actually to ensure that he was safely tethered to me in a chaotic crowd where he could easily be snatched, even with me right there. Or worse yet, if there was ever a crowd stampede. It's a crazy world, and he is my most precious possession. SO what I am saying is that this harness could also be advertised and sold as personal protection equipment for kids too big for a stroller who can easily let go of your hand. Thank you High Stream Gear for including the whole family in creating wonderful dependable and fashionable products that make our lives so much better!

Purchased this for my 2 1/2 year old for our Alaskan winter activities. It is perfect! She is a wild child and having this so be able to keep her in control is just what we needed!
