Just missed the return of this collet set by one day. Wasn’t able to test until March 4, return day was March 3. My findings are the internal runout of the collet large taper is .005” . The MT3 taper is not true, heavy on large end. My lathe run out on the internal MT3 is .0002”. Tried 1/4” and 1/2” collets. Run out was .005-.007” using ground pins. The 1/2-13 tapped end was not drilled and tapped straight. Collets tapered surfaces are turned not ground. Avoid this set, waste of money.My fault not checking the accuracy within the time period.

The first time I tried to use this, the “nut” that tightens down to compress the collet seized onto the threads of the collet holder and cannot be removed. Pretty much a write-off.

This is a well made Collet and works great. NOTE the drawbar thread is not 1/2-20 as advertised, but it is 1/2-13.

Seems to be well made, but the collet drawbar thread is 1/2" -13 threads per inch, not 1/2" -20. Annoying, but 1/2" -13 all-thread is available almost everywhere and you can make a drawbar eaily enough with a nut and washer.Good to know if you are ordering a drawbar at the same time.
