The blocks do the job, no question about it. It was easy to cut with a straight edge knife -just press into it and slice. The size must be a standard since they all fit well into my old holiday planters. Price was great. Blocks seem durable. My issue is the nano-sized charged particles all over the blocks and soon to be all over you. They clinged to my hands and tool as well as the tote bag I used to carry them outside. I am glad I decided to do this glue gun job outside. Wiping my hands did nothing to remove these gritty particles. Only water helped, as it neutralized the charge. I did not expect this at all. I gloved up to finish the job. In hindsight, I should have put a mask on also. I know I must have ingested some of those pesky granules. Suggest you hose them down before use. That should help -maybe.

Foam is great but be careful of dry center of foam. You MUST poke holes into foam completely for water absorption into middle or your flowers will die!
