I have this spade and also the one with the standard steel D-handle. This one gets more use. The rubber on the handle makes it significantly more comfortable when you inevitably hit a rock while digging. The edge is sharp out of the box and I’ve never used a shovel or spade that is even slightly comparable to the quality of the King of Spades.One thing of note - this does not come with the rubber foot pad shown in the picture.

I was gifted one these 15 years ago and is still the best tool in my arsenal against roots, concrete post settings, old patio wood, and eventually zombies.

I have had this going on 7 seasons. The shock absorbing handle is a must. Due to the rubber I keep it out of the weather when not in use amd it is holding up really well still. I removed stars due to them raising the price.
