  • Curved Jaw Profile – Offers improved visibility and reach for difficult hook removals.
  • Strong Hemostat Lock – Securely clamps for precise, hands-free control.
  • Extra Rugged Construction – Long, thick jaws and handles for power and durability.
  • Saltwater-Ready Stainless Steel – Built to resist rust and corrosion from repeated exposure.
  • Made for Serious Anglers – Perfect for saltwater, pike, musky, and other big game fishing.

These heavy-duty fly fishing pliers are not for the faint of heart! Designed to manhandle big flies and keep gnashing teeth, loose treble hooks, and fly hooks at a safe distance, they are perfectly at home in fresh and saltwater environments. The long, heavy-duty shanks and short, powerful jaws make short work of deep hook removal, big barb crushing, and closing shot. They are really handy when removing double fly rigs or stinger setups from fish. These pliers serve as a great alternative to traditional pliers, offering a versatile design with half smooth and half striated jaw structure. The heavy-duty shanks ensure durability and strength, making them an essential tool for any serious angler. Whether you're fishing in a river, lake, or ocean, these pliers will help you tackle even the toughest catches with ease.

EDIT: This is NOT for hook removal. I'm not removing any stars because this tool is for fly fishing. DO NOT buy this to remove hooks as the tool will lock automatically any time you close the jaws. This is great if you grab the the first time, and a pain in the butt if you don't.I purchased the straight version of this tool. Since that's the only difference, I'll copy that review below. I do think I'll use this one more than the straight one, especially for deep hooksets. It better positions the tool and allows me to see what's going on.I fish for pike, and having a long clamp is essential. I've also become a Kingfisher fan, so I was excited to receive this clamp. The gold standard is the Knipex Extra Long needlenose Pliers, so I will compare against that. The Knipex build quality is superior. The metal is much more stout, and the handgrip is rubber coated. The Kingfisher is no slouch, although it seems more like a precision tool. The Kingfisher locks shut, and it has a mechanism to assure it aligns every time you close it. I think the Knipex will be handed down to my kids while the Kingfisher will likely get bent from my carelessness in the next decade. With the Kingfisher being more of a precision tool, it's the one I'll keep with me every time I'm fishing. It'll work for smallies that swallow the hook just as well. The Knipex is heavy and a big awkward, yet it'll be onboard any time I'm going for large pike or musky. What I'm saying is they compliment each other. Also, since the Knipex is not fishing specific, I found it rusts quite easily.Let's talk price. The Kingfisher is a third the cost of the Knipex. These are quite similar to a set of straight clamps that I already own from Kingfisher. Like those, these are some really nice clamps in terms of function and the fit and finish. They're long enough to give you some reach, but because of where the hinge point is, you have a ton of power in clamping strength with very little pressure at the grips. The fact that the tips are curved means you a better ability to see what you're trying to grab because the handles aren't in the way. As with the previous set, the rings for the grips are the larger style that would be useful if you wear gloves, but are also nice because you can get 2 fingers in the bottom ring comfortably and give yourself more control. Once again, I'm really impressed with the gear coming out from Kingfisher.

I grew up with a serious fisherman father & brother, but the sport never took for me. While dad has been gone for some time, my brother is still a die hard weekend freshwater fisherman. Making lures was always a thing between my dad and brother, so when I saw this clamp, I immediately thought it would be a thoughtful birthday gift for my brother’s November birthday. As a tool, the clamp is precise and well forged. There are no signs of design or construction shortcuts, and I’ve found that the curved jaws easily hold 4lb line either across the clamp, or at 90 degrees. The curved jaws allow you to place the clamp on a flat surface with the jaws up so you can fiddle with a lure without having to hold the clamp. The ratchet mechanism is precise, and there is a remarkably fine (and sharp) centering point on the clamp arm to fits to a hole in the other arm. All very well done. I could not be more pleased, and this is well priced. Highly recommend.✅ nice design✅ great construction✅ precise feel✅ accurate listing⛔ no negativesBOTTOM LINE: excellent clampI’ll update this review over time should things change.

Excellent clamp tool. I'm not a "fly-fisherman" but these clamps / pliers are a handy tool for a bass fisherman like myself. I needed something to assist in hook removal from the fish. I've been using standard fishing pliers which are fine, but these Kingfishers have certain features that make them a better choice -1) Because they're designed like scissors, your fingers go through and you do not drop them - not the same with fishing pliers. I've dropped them more times that I can count.2) They lock - and they actually have 3 settings3) They are a perfect length for 99% of the fish out there that you'll catch. They have a long reach and protect you from the fish and the hook.4) The clamp has ridges giving them traction and power.5) They are made of a strong, quality metal making them very durable for years of use.Highly recommend.

This is much heavier duty than I anticipated so I am thrilled! I got this mainly to remove hooks from the fish I catch. Bass fishing is in full swing here now and I struggled last week to remove hooks from fish that I caught. When I saw this on Amazon, I decided to give it a try and I am ever so glad that I did! It is long enough to easily reach inside the mouth of fish and then it can grasp the hook with no need to put your fingers inside the fish. The clamp is designed to tightly grip the hook without slipping off the metal. I am very happy with the length because it allows me to get the deep hooks out of the fish. These is a great addition to my tackle box - not one of those things that stays in there gathering the proverbial dust but a tool that will be frequently used. Almost forgot to mention that it works great for attaching split shot on my line so that is an added bonus in my mind.

Good set of hemostats, got the 10" version. I would grade these as tool quality, which is fine, but maybe I notice this more because I use surgical quality ones often at work. These work great for general clamping, hook removal, grabbing etc. But the ones I received have at least a mm of gap at a good portion the jaws even when full closed, so clamping and twisting doesn't work great. But for the price, for general use, you'll like these.
