I have a number of utensils that need to be handwashed either due to material or size. I don’t have a dish drain; I use a stone drying mat. This works well for me – the utensils often take up too much room on the mat when I need to handwash my cookware as well. It easily fits behind the stone mat and does not result in a wet countertop due to the diatomite base which absorbs quite quickly. It also looks good next to it – it matches. The compartments are large, I can use the unit both for drying and storing. The stone base is easily removed for rinsing or cleaning. The rubber feet keep the metal holder from damaging the countertop. The holder has a coating over the metal which will prevent rust, the stone helps everything dry quickly so that too may help prevent rust, and you will not have a mold problem as can happen if you put damp utensils in a closed ceramic container.I also like that the entire unit can be picked up and moved to the stove or another prep area.I imagine this can be used for items other than utensils, but it did not work for me with regular silverware, the spoons and forks ended up poking out the sides.

This lightweight rack will definitely replace the gaudy, and hard to clean plastic one we have been using. It has a lot of room so we won't have to cram our utensils into it and it will be much easier to clean. The diatomaceous earth pad is a nice feature in case utensils are not quite dry when we store them, though we try never to store them wet. The compartments are set and not adjustable but they are definitely large enough for our needs. If you happen to be one of those lucky people who has wall space available in your kitchen this also handily comes with a set of adhesive hangers so that you can clear up some counter space by hanging them. I've used these particular type adhesive hangers before in our shower and as long as you preclean them with rubbing alcohol, they stick very securely. It's certainly heavy enough to stand on its own if you want to give up counter space. No need to resort to using the adhesive hangers if you're going to use it that way.My feeling is that as long as we keep our utensils dry, the rack will not rust for a long time which is quite a feat considering that we live quite near the ocean on an island in the middle of the Pacific. Not a bad price for a pretty good amount of storage space!

This works great as a drying rack for my utensils and it is definitely Jumbo. It was much bigger than I expected. I like that it has the absorbant stone and it's raised to avoid trapping water beneath it. It seems like genuine diatomaceous earth and works just like my drying mat. I don't have a dishwasher so this has plenty of space for all the silverware and cooking utensils. I probably could dirty my entire kitchen worth of silverware and utensils and wash them and there would be enough room in this to dry them all! The only negative is that it looks cheap in person. I bought it in black to match the rack I have that holds my dish soap and sponges etc. Compared to that one it just doesn't look as nice and I thought they would complement eachother but they don't unfortunately. It would be nice if it were in a matte finish and the wires were a bit nicer quality. It's not as sturdy either. It works for what I need just looks a bit cheap. Definitely look at the measurements because it's huge. It fits in the space I need just barely.

My kitchen is decently sized, but it has *literally* zero storage. Ok, that’s a bit of a lie. It has a handful of built in shelves that we use for canned goods. That’s it. No usable cabinets, no drawers, nothing. I’ve dealt with it for three years, expecting that *this* will be the last 6-month lease we sign. But with the housing market & economy the way they are, I’ve finally accepted that we’ll probably be here a while and I might as well make it as livable as possible in the meantime.I just hung this up, but I’m already kicking myself that I didn’t order this years ago. It was so easy to install—literally just three strong sticker hooks that the shelf then slipped onto. It has SO MUCH space! I love cooking so I have a ton of “large” utensils, and I haven’t even filled 1/3 of this thing!I guess one downside is that it only includes one set of the sticker hooks, and I assume they can’t be repositioned (though, maybe?? I am unwilling to try it though!) so you have to make sure you get it right on the first try. For those that actually have counter space, however, it does also include rubber caps for the legs so it won’t slide around and/or scratch up your countertop.I definitely HIGHLY recommend this for anyone with limited kitchen storage, or even anyone that just wants to jazz up their kitchen a bit. Or even other rooms in the house, it certainly doesn’t have to be just the kitchen. Honestly I think it would also work quite nicely to put hair “tools” in—blow dryers, straighteners, etc. The uses are endless!

if you’re leaving this on the counter or some other area then it’s definitely five stars. I just knocked off one star because when it comes to utensil holders, I move mine around a bit as I’m grabbing different things and this one isn’t great for that. The reason being is it has the stone at the bottom that helps absorb water and it’s not attached so if you slide the holder the stone doesn’t necessarily come with it so things kind of fall to the bottom and need rearranged. Not a big deal if you’re not moving it and honestly, it’s not meant to be moved because it does come with some adhesive guides that you can stick on the wall to hold it in place. Just keep it in mind as we don’t always use things as planned.

This thing doesn't hold anything. You see the thin little wires holding it together? Well, everything you slide in there will fall through and be sticking out. Don't even bother. Horrible design.
