The Story of Morgan

At just two years old, Morgan Dean Hebberd, a spirited boy from New Zealand, was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite enduring a challenging six-year battle with recurring remissions, Morgan remained a beacon of joy and kindness. In his final months, his father, Gary, took time off work to be by his side, cherishing every moment with him before Morgan passed away at the age of eight.

Gary and our founder, Channon, have been close friends for years. In 2014, Gary shared a heartfelt wish with Channon: he wished he had a tool to expedite his work so he could have spent more precious time with his son.

This conversation inspired the creation of a solution that accelerates work and reduces time spent on projects. This solution is called the Morgan Square.

Increased efficiency and accuracy. The tape measure being attached to the square makes the measuring portion a one-hand operation. Improved accuracy is realized by combining the measuring and marking processes into one process. Eliminating a second step, we have removed one opportunity for error.

FAQ's

1) Can I keep my favorite Tape Measure?

a. The Morgan Square is engineered to work with most widely available standard tape measures.

2) How much time will I save when using The Morgan Square?

a. By utilizing The Morgan Square to combing the measuring and marking steps into one fluid motion you will at least 25% or more of the time spent on these processes.

3) Will The Morgan Square only save me time while measuring and marking?

a. No, by combining these steps, The Morgan Square will prove to be more accurate. Better accuracy means less errors, reducing the time spent on correcting these errors.

4) What is the “CL” mark?

a. CL denotes the centerline. It located ¾” from each side of the Morgan Squares ruler, which is 1-1/2” wide. This will aid you in locating wall studs using the “on center” dimension. This will also assist in many project layout scenarios.

5) What is that mark between the Kiwi Vision logo and the ruler?

a. This mark is located 1-1/2 inches from the inside edge of the tongue. This is helpful for locating the King, trimmer, and cripple studs at wall openings. It is also very handy for many other situations during layout of projects large and small.

I work alone and it looked like a good idea. It is. I used it to make some lattices of 1 x 1/4 flats. Lots of pieces. Lots of markings. Saves a bunch of time. Using it is intuitive. Move line move line. As fast as that. Eventually I’ll get an aluminum one.

I really wanted this to be better than it was but just couldn't. I frame for a living and thought this would be way nicer to use. If the makers see this....hit me up, I can definately give advice on how to make it better....free advice, get rid of that pencil holder thing. Most of us use Fat Max 25 tapes or larger....pencil holder is too lose and makes the tape awkward in the holder for the tape..... should of gave these out to a few dozen framers to try... .

It's a great idea but it did not fit any of my tape measures. If it had a better way to attach the tape measure rather than relying on th tape's belt clip it would work. The tool is plastic. If it were made of the fiber reinforced type nylon, it would be better. I think it has potential with design modifications.
