It's stupid... it's expensive as hell but it's the only thing that works and has saved me so much headache. I will never use it except with this very specific bike and to check the valves but damn it I will not do it without this tool.

Used this on 2013 GL1800 works. Did adjust tool head down some to help with turning on right side. Tensioner is designed to turn clockwise but not counter when locked in.

In the description of the item, the "Product Dimensions" are ‎4.5 x 4 x 0.5 inches. Nope, not even close. The overall length is 1.5 inches. The knurled top is about .5 inches in diameter. If it does what it's supposed to do, fine. I just hope I don't lose the little thing in the bottom of my tool bag.

I bought the K&L cam chain tensioner holder to work on my 2012 Honda CBR600RR. This tool was too long to fit; with the knurled end removed, it did not clear the frame to get into the hole in the cam chain tensioner. I needed to cut about 1/4" off for it to work. Once the shaft was cut down, it worked well enough. I had some problems getting it back *out*, which might be due to user error.

The Honda version of this tool costs double. The micro sprag clutch in the K&L tool makes releasing the cam chain tensioner an easy job, even on a GL1800A with radiator hoses and antiskid pump in the way; just loosen the setscrew on the knob and lower it a quarter-inch and you have all the clearance you need, unless you have really fat fingers. I hope the guy in the above review didn't actually strip the bike like he said he did...

I have been dreading to do a valve adjustment on my 2013 cb1100 because I didn't want to pay full price for the honda part version of this tool. Luckily found this and works. Just be careful, the little screwed insert that keeps tension and keeps the grip disc on the rod fell out on me, luckily I didn't lose it and was able to use a punch tool the same size to screw it back in.

Bought this to relieve cam chain tension on a 2007 Goldwing with ABS. I was able to use the tool and remove the cam for shim replacement. It was a real pain. The ABS module and radiator hoses are in direct conflict with the tension removal port. Had to adjust the knob on the tool to allow it to go in the port, but it did work. A lot cheaper than the honda tool. Could not have completed the job without it.

This worked perfectly its just a shame Honda stuck the ABS pump right above the right hand adjuster so there was no way to get to the adjuster without moving the pump which means stripping most of the bike down! Honda recommend loosen cam chain before measuring clearance's but I couldn't measure any difference between chain tight or loose but this tool does work!!
