Professional quality music stand designed for members of an orchestra, although I bought it to practise amateur guitar as it is sturdy enough to support heavy music books like Bob Dylan's complete chords and lyrics. The legs are extendable over a huge range to accommodate both seated and standing players and they are made of aluminium to make it lighter to carry about although, perhaps surprisingly, the deck which supports the music books is made of steel which is quite heavy. Nevertheless the stand is very stable and not prone to topple over. The reason for using steel for the deck is so that magnetic accessories like fix 'n' clips and pencils with magnetic holders can be attached to the stand. (There is another similar stand for school orchestras that has steel legs and an aluminium deck). The steel deck attaches to the aluminium legs using a quick release clamp ( the school orchestra one has a slightly different attachment method). I also purchased an optional instrument tray which fixes onto the stand so that I can have guitar capo, picks, tuner, metronome at hand. This wasn't cheap(£30) but the stand itself is only £59, which I think is very reasonable for a sturdy professional quality stand. There are other options for lighter weight cheaper stands that may not be as sturdy as this one.

Er steht stabil, lässt sich einfach in der Höhe verstellen und hält sowohl einzelne Blätter als auch dickere Notenhefte problemlos. I had to return 2 Manhasset stands that recently purchased, due to unacceptable noise of intern rattle. It is a shame that once the standard for quality stands took such a dive. Anyway, enough about that.This is stand is exactly what I needed:Robust, sturdy, large desk and deep desk shelf.Everything is of highest manufacturing quality available.Desk aside, the stand is identical to the bass clarinet or bassoon stands by k&m which are what musicians around the world trust to hold their $15K Bass clarinets or $50K bassoon. See the picture next to my bass clarinet stand.It is heavy and it is a good thing. If you want light compact - plenty of other options for that purpose.

Very well made. Sturdy and easy to adjust, this stand is by far the best I've come across. The adjustable height, adjustable tripod base, and adjustable tilt of the page holder make this very versatile. Easily holds a music book or a tablet.

This is a good, stable music stand. It's nice that the steel desk can be quickly released from the mostly aluminum support stand, allowing compact storage and transport while still providing a solid surface desk. I don't have it, but K&M offers a carrying case for this stand.The engineering seems well done. Threaded parts are steel and/or heavy brass, and unlikely to strip out easily. (It must be admitted that some people have no mechanical sense, and will over tighten things to the breaking point, no matter how well the parts are made.) Plastic parts are stout and seem to be high grade engineered material. Time will tell, but so far I'm pleased with this stand.
