The end of the tube is bent like it was dropped before it was put in the box, but it’s hidden underneath that sleeve connect, connecting to the throttle body. Also was missing the vacuum line so I had to do some adjusting with a hose and a couple of parts store runs. I got it running, but it has starting issues due to the missing vacuum line quick connect adapter and K&N in tech-support has not responded after taking a week to respond asking for the info.

Despite being a 2004 my mercury has two hoses that lead into the stock intake, One for the vent and another for the idle air control valve. As you can clearly see in the photo the aftermarket intake only has a hose for the vent. i'm going to return this and buy the version for the 1996-03 and hope that fits.

This is for my 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis - 4.6 V8. These should fit all Electric Throttle body (05 and up) crown vics and Grand Marquis. So if you see the pics than know that it may come in slightly bent at the ends, i had to clean up the welds, you can see the metal hanging in one of the pictures. The MAF mounting was coating in the paint/powder coat and may not seal all the way. The PCV hose has to be stretched to fit and the mounting wasn't perfect like i am use to with K&N.All that said, it fits well and works great. I have 1,000 or more miles since the install and no issues with warning lights or anything. The sound it makes it pretty nice, not too much for a family cruiser.Overall know it will need some work to get it perfect, but if you are into modding cars at all you should already be use to this.

When Modifying your vehicle be aware that you might have to make things fit...like, drill two new holes and drop the metal box the filter sits in down about 3/4 of an inch...use the extra washers to space the l-backet out correctly...one size never fits all...mine's been on there since january of '19 without a problem...you cannot expect high performance add-ons that were made for a wide range of vehicles to fit without thought...and oh...if you haven't put on a larger dual exhaust and a tune before you install this, don't expect much...

I installed this in my 2010 Grand Marquis, Installation took under a hour. I do notice a difference in horse power right away. They also made the sound from my flowmaster exhaust a lot louder.

I'm totally disappointed by this cold air kit for my 2006 Ford CVPI - it does not work! K&N obviously did not engineer it correctly as installing this kit causes the check engine light to illuminate and puts the engine management system into 'limp home mode'. Once the OEM configuration was reinstalled, the car performed normally. This K&N product causes an extreme mismatch in the air flow parameters that the Ford engine management system can't work with - definitely do not waste your money on this product!
