Bought it for a 2002 Dakota with a 5.9 magnum. Ran into unrelated engine trouble resulting in that I didn't have a chance to install it until after the return window had closed or I would have sent it back. If by "fits all Dakota 5.9, 2000-2003" they mean you can close the hood, correct. The lower L bracket is too short by 1 1/2" and the heat shield has a 2" air gap around it. What's the point of the heat shield with its thick rubber gasket if it only contacts the body on 2 sides. for a $400.00 part the fit sucks. Should not have to modify anything for that kind of money. The intake tube was dirty in the box. I suspect it was a return/repack sold as new. Part # on the box is correct, don't know about what's in it. Only way to find out is to buy another one for comparison and at $400.00 that's not happening. Last time I buy an auto part from amazon. Buyer beware.

I like the intake in general but I shouldn't have to modify it to make it fit properly in my truck. The tube came way to long I'm not sure if they misboxed it or what but I have to cut off and extra 5 inches of the tube to make it fit there was a line that matched what the tube should have been cut to so I cut it there and it fit like it should but k&n really needs to step up their quality control especially for the price you pay for the product aside from the needed modifications overall I like the intake myself it was a much needed upgrade over my 14x3 carb style filter that was sucking all the hot air from the headers and radiator stack should see quite a difference in performance over that

Excellent product. Cleaned up engine bay very well. Quiet @ full throttle; no intake honk. Perfect fit on my Dakota R/T. Used this to replace cobbled together aluminum pipe and factory airhat. Stupidly expensive for some blow-molded plastic, a bracket, 2 hose clamps, hardware and a filter, but worth every penny.

The difference in torque is absolutely a nice feel, don't know if I can really tell the hp difference in this truck but it doesn't matter, the torque gain itself is well worth the money.Another benefit is the throttle response, it's wonderful.K&N really makes a great product, in order for this to fit properly, the cruise control unit need to be relocated, of which all the hardware was included. They even included graphs of the test they did with a stock Durango and one with the FIPK.Contrary to one of the other reviews, this is definitely worth the money.

When it comes to performance in my car, I'm crazy... I can notice even small differences and with this kit, I can definitely say that my baby has more power now! Not that much though, I mean don't expect any miracles but you can expect a nice noticable difference in torque when you accelerate.Why the 4 star then? Well, first it's price. I'd say it's not worth its price since it is just a piece of plastic, metal (which you don't even need to use) and a regular air filter... I mean come on, how expensive can it be to produce it? K&N is ripping off people because of their name, I can say that. Anyway, I've bought it and I'm happy, it's just I would've been more happier if it was cheaper.And second; it makes a stupid hissing sound when accelerating inside my cabin. It is actually a very nice sound if you can hear it from outside (like a turbo or supercharger, may I say) but from inside, it disturbs.Conclusion: I wouldn't recommend it for this price unless you are crazy about these things as I am :)
