Bought for less than $50, great at that price point.

I've been recharging an older version of this same filter for quite awhile now, and each time I had to do it more often and it didn't last as long. I opted to purchase this as a second filter, rotating the two between using one and recharging the other. The difference was immediate---my vehicle's engine didn't have to work nearly as hard, I never peaked RPMs like I normally do on hill climbs, and I'm actually getting quite a bit better gas mileage. Get the K&N RF-1042DR wrap kit with this---it will extend the life further, decrease filter service intervals and is easily cleaned. You won't regret it!

This is the second K&N filter I have purchased. Lifetime is only as long as the filter elements last. I did get many years of use out of it maybe 10+ years with cleaning and re-oiling the element. Great adding of power to my 2000 Nissan Frontier, amazing free airflow. Need K&N's intake replacing the stock airbox to get this to work on your Nissan

It's a big air filter for the inlet of a turbo compressor. I find that the squashed oval base fits better in my cramped engine bay and I find it gives me plenty of flow. Typical high quality KN manufacture.

I have 2 vehicles with K&N products. One is a '02 Nissan Frontier. I installed a K&N cold air intake system. The other is an air filter on my '79 Corvette. Both have added horsepower and gas mileage. The difference is noted as soon as you start the engine. With the optional cleaning kits they will last forever. Great products. I would highly recommend K&N to any car enthusiast or anyone who wants added power and mileage.

The shape of the filter provides a lot more surface area than a conical filter in the same space. I have trusted K&N to remove more dirt from the intake air than all other conventional OEM and aftermarket filters.

-----What you should know before you buy-------It comes with a 3/4 hold on the bottom that is used for a pcv valve with one of K&N's custom kits. I would highly recommend that you plug it. go to a hardware store and buy a 3/4in (double check the size) plastic plug or cap for this. Just go to the plumbing department and look around for something that would fit. Then just glue it in the hole!I used this for a cold air intake system on a dodge charger. The filter placement is under the engine compartment near the driver side headlight. I wanted the biggest filter I could fit into the particular compartment. This one was great for a big surface area without being super long like some of the other big cone filter. It also has a spot in the top to hold a nut so that a bolt can be threaded thru to secure it.Also: If you are looking to add a filer wrap for added protection go with K&N model RF-1042DR. This one fit perfectly and I would highly recommend it.
