I am an avid knitter and Noro yarns are some of my all time favourites. Will never find time to knit them all.

This Noro book has lots of great things. I especially like the afghans but am knitting a beautiful vest. The yarns paired with the patterns are also up to Noro's typical beautiful standards. I did have trouble finding the yarns knit up for some of the project, which was disappointing as I have a tendency to want to knit with the yarns shown in the book. I could chase them down eventually, but it wasn't easy. That's the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.

If you are an avid knitter who has worked with Noro yarns, you will not be disappointed in KNIT NORO. There is something for everyone from unique scarves, hats, afghans, wearables such as wraps, vests, cardigans and the ever popular knee highs-and wristers. Written instructions, schematics and charts are clearly defined and the photographs present each project like works of art...which they are. The patterns included in this publication are stylish as well as timeless and will appeal to all ages. This was definitely a 5 star Amazon purchase.

Love this book! I've always loved Noro yarn, and this book has patterns that show off a variety of them -- Mostly Silk Garden & Taiyo (my new favorite), but also Kureyon, sock etc. The patterns are easy to read and follow, and flattering for a variety of sizes and shapes (xsmall through xxlarge), plus a couple afghans, scarves, socks, hats, etc. -- 30 patterns in all. Love it! Love it! Love it!

I am a Noro yarn junkie and have purchased every Noro book or pattern I can get my hands on. This one is by far the best of the best. The styles are fresh and not too complicated. There are many for the beginner and enough for those wanting a challenge. I have already made the Bobble Shawl using every bit of 4 skeins of Kureyon (from my stash). The patterns really showcase the wonderful Noro colorways that are available. Photos are fantastic. The specified yarns are easy to find. Definitely a keeper for the novice and expert alike. Already convinced two others to buy the book!!! And have the striped shawl on the needles already.

I remember the first time I ever saw Noro yarn, about 15 years ago. It's imprinted on my mind - it was just that beautiful. I bought enough yarn to make myself a sweater and to this day it's one of my favorite pieces of clothing. Noro patterns have come a long way. They started out in little pamphlets that were hard to read and not very aesthetic. Now we have this beautiful book along with several wonderful Noro books by Jane Ellison. The books come up to the beauty of the yarn and the patterns are now varied and beautiful. This book is a stand-out with its thirty patterns. All have something to say for themselves but some stand out more than others. I was drawn to the following:The Belted Cardigan Vest in diagonal stripes with a matching belt knit with Noro Silk GardenThe Ridged Ripple ScarfNoro Yarns Silk Garden Sock YarnThe Cabled Hat knit with Noro Yarns Silk GardenThe Chevron Throw which is exquisite in its blues, browns and greens, knit with Noro KuryonThe Spiral Beanie knit with Noro Silk GardenLeaf Lace Socks in lovely shades of blue and violet knit with Noro Silk Garden Sock YarnLacy Gaiter knit with Noro Silk Garden Sock YarnSideways Stripes Vest is a real winner with its multi-colored primary colors knit with Noro TaiyoPatchwork Afghan knit with Noro Taiyo in lovely shades of pink, orange, browns and blackFelted Cloche knit with Noro Kureyon and then feltedThe Striped Shawl is something I know I'll knit soon. It's that lovely. It has shades of purple, green, brown and gray and is knit with Noro KuryonThe Fair Isle Cap looks Norwegian in style and is knit with Noro KuryonI've picked out my favorites and they number twelve, almost half of the number of patterns in the book. When I purchase a knitting book I ask myself these questions:Will I knit the patterns? Is the book a good resource? Are the patterns easy to understand? The answer to all three questions is an absolute 'YES'. This is a wonderful book. If you love Noro, you'll love this book. If you haven't yet discovered Noro, this book will make a Noro lover out of you. It is a wonderful addition to my knitting library.

Do Americans actually spell gauge (tension) guage, or is this a really irritating spelling mistake on every pattern?Tension is impossible to obtain in the pattern I knitted for a felted hat if it is only given for the items once it has been felted!I tried hand felting, which did not give enough shrinkage, so I threw it inot the washing machine on a 40 degree wash and light spin, 8oo rpm, then tok it out, pulled it hard and dried it over a cooking bowl. However, the hat looks good in the colourway I chose. When the sales come, because Noro yarn is expensive, I shall have a go at another pattern.

I ordered this book from Amazon because it had the most good reviews of any Noro knitting book.It truly is a beautiful book and the projects look fun and doable.Until last October--I had not knit in over 15 years--but after attending the animal fiber arts show in Fletcher, NC with a friend (I've never seen so much hand dyed wool in my life)I became inspired to knit again. Somehow I discovered Noro too and when this book came in the mail--I looked through it to find the most beginning projects and settled on the kimona cardigan.I drove to a nearby yarn store--and wouldn't you know it--they had quite a selection of Noro yarn and in the silk garden colorways it called for. I bought all the yarn and the nice girl in the shop said "stop back by if you have any trouble, and I'll show you how to do it. "Well, I started on the sleeves--and the yarn is really beautiful and it seems pretty straightforward with garter stitch and stockinette stitch. You really don't need complicated stitches with this yarn--because it steals the show. :)I see several other projects in this book that I will probably try too. Lots of fun vertical stripes, fun socks and fingerless gloves. My guess is if you don't care for the color anything is made with in the book--as long as you use the same type of yarn--you could just get it in a different color and it would turn out very pretty too.I'm really glad I got this book--I am having a lot of fun knitting this sweater. The color pix are awesome and I have enjoyed just looking through the book, reading through the directions and looking at the charts.
