It doesn’t come with instructions. I was trying to figure out how it punches a hole for the eyelets, and then finally figured out that the eyelets, or grommets themselves actually punch the hole in the material as you squeeze the pliers.Other than that, the tool is awesome.

So far so good! There were no instructions included so I just played around with it a bit to figure out how it works. You have to squeeze it completely shut for it to release. However, depending on what you are putting a grommet in, it takes a lot of hand strength to squeeze it all the way down. It does a nice grommet and I like that there are 2 sizes. I also like that it is magnetic so it holds the grommet pieces in place. That's a plus! The tool itself seems well made and will last a long time.

This Knoweasy Grommet tool set is decent. The tool itself is sturdy and works well, and the kit comes with lots and lots of pieces. It's easy to use, though it would have been nice to have had some instructions, it's easy enough to figure out with a quick google or YouTube search. It seems to be accurate so far, and the grip is reasonably comfortable. At the time I'm writing this review, it is priced at $33.99, and I feel it's a great value. I'll never run out lol.

Been searching for a tool like this for a while. Seems to work well for what it is. I plan on repairing my truck tarp that has missing eyelets from wear and tear 👍

The last of instructions is frustrating. The tool its self is nice and does do the job, after watch Utube videos. The eyelets that come with it are ok. Not the best. The dies click into place but i did have one not quite align correctly and would have caused bit problems if i didn't notice. Over all a good tool just lacking instructions for beginners.

Unfortunately, the kit I received has no instructions and appears to be missing the 1/4" die and most of the 1/4" grommet washers. (Photo shows nearly empty section - lower side, away from hinge - containing only a few 1/4" washers. Fishing through all compartments, I found no more.) After watching an instruction video for another brand, I tried the larger grommets. First attempt didn't work. Pliers require quite a bit of force to compress the grommets, and without instructions, I had the washer upside down. But 2nd attempt was successful. There's no merchant contact info, so I posted a request for the missing parts. Another review cites missing instructions, so it seems a chronic problem, and since I didn't receive enough parts to do the 1/4" washers at all, I'll give the kit 3 stars and will update to 5 if I receive the missing washers and die. With the missing parts problem solved, this would be a good kit.

This tool is heavy and solid, but also finicky and breakable, as it turns out. There are no instructions for this particular tool's operation included, nor are they on the web page. The last time I used a grommet tool was a couple of decades ago when my kids were in Scouts. The handles got stuck closed, and I figured out there was a tiny lever high inside one of the handles that released the ratchet and allowed them to open again.I handed them to my husband just to see if he could figure out how to open the handles on his own, and he ended up breaking the larger size die that was in it! I saw a tiny piece of metal fly across the room. I don't know what it was, and after that the die was totally ineffective to use.Considering this is MY tool, I was very aggravated with him over it. I changed to the smaller size die (which is a real pain to do, and I broke my knockoff phillips screwdriver in the process). It worked fine when I tested it, so I know it was only the larger die that broke and not the pliers. He's not allowed to use it now; he can go dig out his old one from the garage. :)About changing the dies... you have to use your own screwdriver to unscrew each half of the die, and one screw on mine was in there so tight that it actually broke the head of my screwdriver, as I said. It wasn't a high-quality screwdriver, but it sure surprised the heck out of me. Those dies are a real pain to change out in this tool; they only stay in place with one tight screw each. The tool feels heavy-duty, but it is very rudimentary and isn't easy or intuitive to unratchet the handles or to change out the die heads, and obviously it's possible to break the dies so they don't seem to be great quality.I'm very disappointed in this, but at least for now I can still use the smaller size if I'm gentle with it, I guess. It's below average. 2 stars from me.

Good, but it didn't come with instructions. The grip feels nice and sturdy but when I did a raft punch, it didn't clamp down all the way. And I have no idea how to fix it. Otherwise it's very heavy duty, heavy, and comes with a lot of parts and two sizes. But I can't seem to press it down past a certain point.
