The bit is long enough to reach what's needed, and sharp enough to cut a smooth swath. I used this to cut out the body shape of a guitar made from mahogany and maple. Cuts through in several passes. Probably not made for wood, but works great. Will use again and again.

Cut pine & mahogany with it so far, works well, throws the cuttings clear.
