Ive gone through a few of the overly cheap Chinese taps that were absolute garbage. This tap is hard, its tough and it cuts phenomenal threads. I am a working machinist and I use these every day in my shop and you dont get better than this. FWIW though its a 6 flute tap. I think they have it misidentified as a 3 flute.

I bought this to chase some messed up threads in stainless and it did it without a problem. I used plenty of cutting oil and when I was done the tap still looked good as new

This is a well made tap that I used to thread the end of a press ram made out of drill rod. It cut nice clean threads in that tool steel. Very happy with it!

Great quality..very sharp and easy cutting. Needed a very square fitting for the part I'm.making so I checked it with my nerd tools and it was almost perfectly square and only 2 ten thousandths of runout

Nice quality. Machined and not formed threads. Not sure about the metal quality yet but it did cut one hole effortlessly. If I can get 2 or 3 more holes out of it I will be more than happy.

Cut well and left crip sharp threads but could have used more starting taper to make it easier to start coaxial to the hole. Not American made and the steel doesn't seem like it would do dozens and dozens of hole in a high carbon steel but it did very well in 416 stainless. The price was very reasonable and delivery was fast. I'll buy another if this one ever wears out.

I originally purchased this device to tap what I was told was an anodized aluminium fitting. After receiving the fitting I found out it was actually very high tensile steel. Undaunted, I drilled and tapped the fitting with no problems. It seems to be a super sharp tap that will last a very long time.

I'm a specialty machinist by trade, this is the finest threading tap you can buy. I was surprised at the sharpness and dimension specs, and its USA made at an import price. It cuts so smooth that I threaded a part without even feeling the chips roll out, its perfect. I'll be buying all Kodiac taps and dies from now on, thanks for a great item.
