I grew up in my family home with a cast iron tub from the 50s. There were 7 kids in my family, and it got plenty of use and today it's still in the house and in use. Many things were dropped in that tub,Made in the USA and it's stamped into the tub casting located on the underside of the tub along with time and date of casting. Take a picture for your records. Some installation notes:These tubs are heavy, but a homeowner can easily move these tubs into their homes and up and downstairs using a power lifting dolly found at equipment rental stores. The tub is supported by four feet located under the tub. Move the tub into position and due to it's weight place metal plates under each of the feet to prevent the feet from punching through the subfloor. Add additional shim plates under the feet to level. After completing the final leveling of the tub, allow the tub to rest in position for about a week to ensure no settling has occurred on the wood framing and recheck for level. The tub's rim must be perfectly level. Leveling is done by adding additional metal shim plates under the feet. Electrical switch pate covers work well for this. Also screw the leveling plates to the subfloor to prevent moment out from under the feet. please note when screwing down the plates to the subfloor that there can be a tendency to further pull the plates down changing the level of the tub. Alway recheck level after each shim evolution.Amazon delivered the tub and came well crated. Inspect the tub's enamel work and the tub's 4 feet to ensure they are not broken or missing. Check the return window for your order.

My low star-rating is not for the tub, which is great, but for the stressful experience of ordering it from Amazon. The tracking number they sent me was not functional, so I had no idea where the tub was and couldn't give the contractor a straight answer. It was scheduled to be delivered at 8pm on a certain night (finally), then we got a notification at 8pm that it wouldn't be coming after all. Then, when it was delivered, they rang the bell, and, not getting an answer, left. I had not been told that SOMEONE NEEDED TO BE HOME TO SIGN FOR IT! Also, they shipped it from Utah, and I live in New York.Do yourself a favor and order this from a local dealer. But yes! The tub is great! This is our second one! Highly recommend the product itself!

This tub is sturdy. cast iron so it will hold heat better than steel and it has a hardy finish which is hard to chip. My home is still under construction so I have not actually used it yet, but that part is pretty the same for any tub.

We were worried this would look like a coffin, but it's fine. This is a low-profile tub. The one drawback it that if you are planning to use this mostly for showering, sliding shower doors are 58" (either to the top of the door or the bottom of the door frame, depending on the model), or you have to go all they way up to 74" so unless you are short, or you duck, or you have super high ceilings, it's a little awkward. The tub looks nice though.

Good looking tub. Apron has some surface mottling that is standard finish (I thought it looked like a defect, but checked a number of outlets and all are the same). Hoping it's less apparent when tub is installed. Only other available cast iron is American Standard's light weight Americast (read reviews reporting questionable durability so went with Kohler.Amazon scheduled delivery pretty awesome (better than expected). Still, comes on pallet, driver will only take it as far as your garage. Ship weight something like 350 pounds. I built ramps and used a furniture dolly to get tub into house (4 steps up to floor level). Can't find Kohler drain/overflow in stainless, settled for chrome (may burnish to blend with fixtures). A bit pricey at $67 but has Kohler angle built in so figured was best bet.

This is a nice tub in general, and given that it's now installed, not much can be done about these complaints. But two things that I don't like: 1) the non-slip coating on the bottom of the tub is uncomfortable - I can't slide down easily and wish it wasn't there; 2) the back isn't slanted enough for my liking. It was a good price and I like Kohler brand, but it was difficult to determine these two concerns online.

Best low-end cast iron tub available. The bottom is a little bit ugly, but it's perfect for a guest bath.
