This product came in a box with no papers, no instructions, nothing. It is not how Kohler usually ships products. It is as if someone had it laying around at home, shoved it in a box and shipped it. It does NOT look like it is brand new and came from Kohler. Very disappointed. I have to order a shower diverter because it was not included, nor was this mentioned in the description that it is needed. Will not buy here again.

Used as a on/off for multiple shower heads. They dwarf the mixing valve handle.

Don't order Kohler through Amazon. When our plumber came to install this volume control, it was the wrong one, and we were just outside to 30 day return window for Amazon. We were directed to the Kohler company and they would not honor their product since we didn't order it directly from Kohler.com.

Looks nice but at the end of the day, I had no choice since I was retrofitting an older valve and wanted black. It’s sleek but actually pretty cheap. Kohler really gouges u for this kind of thing

Folks, this is NOT a valve trim for a mixing valve, plain and simple. You’ve got to know a thing or two about showers before you criticize this valve trim. The Koehler “master shower” line is a high-end line from a top name brand like Kohler, and the “purist” is a contemporary styling. The mistakes I see in the comments above are fairly common. If you have a typical household shower that has ONE handle in it that controls both off/on and the temperature, then that is called the “mixing valve”. It takes both hot and cold water and mixes them together in proportion as you adjust the valve. It also doubles as a shut-off valve, so it’s a two-for one deal. The typical mixing valves are rather large and the trim plates are designed to cover a large hole where the valve body has been “roughed-in” by the plumber during the home construction; in fact, there’s usually a plastic plate, either square or round, that attaches to the valve behind the wall so the drywall/cement board/tile guy knows exactly how big a hole to leave in the wall. Now, on to THIS valve trim. This particular valve trim is simply for an independent on-off valve, NO MIXING, and you’ll typically find these sorts of valves on higher end showers that have multiple outlets, such as hand showers, body spray jets, overhead rain nozzles, etc etc. The on-off valves aka “volume control” valves are exactly like the exterior water hose connections on your house, you crank them open and the more you open them, the more water can come through, hence the “volume control” function. Since the only part of this valve that needs to poke though the shower wall is the valve stem itself, the hole can be very small, really like the diameter or a quarter is all you need (unlike the mixing valves stated above). And thusly, small hole means small trim plate. I hope you find this review helpful, these are great little units for custom showers. The valves this trim is supposed to work with are the Koehler 1/2” and 3/4” VOLUME CONTROL VALVES and yes amazon sells them!
