Product Description

✅ Steward S Waterless Urinal

From the Manufacturer

Steward Waterless urinals provide significant value to the customer by reducing water, sewage and maintenance costs. Waterless urinals can save 40,000 gallons of water per fixture per year, based upon a typical commercial installation. Further, this product has redefined the paradigm for urinal design and functionality by offering a virtually splash-free surface along with odorless, easy-to-maintain performance.

This is the best thing I've installed in my new bathroom. All homes should have urinals. The water saving factor is crazy. It's also very sleek looking. Best buy

toilet is used in a commercial setting--- for the first year i was unhappy-- the buildup in the urinal was very difficullt to remove if not impossible-- i routinely removed the urinal from wall and chipped the build up away-- not fun--now i simply add a chemical that eats the calcium buildup-- it is an acid based product-(very caustic)called sizzle---we do the whole rinse and flush routine only once every two to three weeks and treat with sizzle only every 2-3 months---the toilet works awesome

I can't properly express to you in words what terrible idea waterless urinals are. Just stop and think about the concept...."Waterless Urinal". At first read it sounds like an environmentalist wonderland, right? You're getting rid of your body’s liquid waste without wasting a drop of precious water. What could be better? In reality you have a urine caked piece of porcelain in your home or office that will always smell of old urine. Always. These things are powered by some Hippy Crystal Gripping Nonsense and like all nonsense it’s based on nothing. Please stay away. Let’s do the world a favor and help these companies discontinue this product. I’m forced to use one at my place of work and I hate it. Everyone hates it. We all avoid the bathroom now because of the smell. It’s preferable to go in the bushes out by the highway then to put up with these things.Do you know what would work better? Cut a hole in your bathroom floor that runs all the way to the ground, and then put a 3” PVC pipe in the ground at a slight angle. Just urinate in that and call it a day. At least you could cap that when you’re not using it.

I bought this because (1) "virtually splash free" according to Kohler, (2) stylish, (3) waterless.I have another standard water urinal that has been working without problems for 12 years. A separate urinal is so practical - my wife never complains about the seat being up. But the one I have splashes a little. Since we are building a high efficiency house, this Kohler sounded ideal. Not so.(1) Splashing is terrible. No position eliminates the problem. I had expected some clever geometry that reflected all urine down into the drain. Instead the basin is relatively flat, and the angles somehow reflect back at the owner! I have used urinals all my life, waterless and standard, and this is the worst by far. My contractor said get a standard urinal but I insisted. Now I am tempted to rip it out and replace it. I am going to try a splash guard first, but why should this be necessary at all? I have to ask, did the idiot that designed this ever try it? How hard can it be to design a basin that doesn't splash?(2) Design is elegant, but the photos look like a much deeper basin.(3) I am about to clean this for the first time. No problems so far. But I am glad to read about "Sew Clean" from Mystic Marine in case I keep this one.All in all, I may call Kohler and ask for a refund or exchange. I need to find a Brand and Model that doesn't splash first.

Oh if I had only seen the reviews by Flipping Homes and Scott Wyland a year ago! I'm just now discovering the exact same situation. Complete blockage after several months of ever slowing drainage.2 DAYS LATER: I FOUND THE SOLUTION! LITERALLY. IT'S CALLED 'SEW CLEAN' A URIC CRYSTAL BUILDUP CLEANER.. GOT IT FROM MYSTIC MARINE - ONLINE BOATINGSTORE. MIXED IT UP, POURED IT IN AND .....VOILA!! IT CLEARED ALMOST INSTANTLY!!!!

As the lone female in a house of four males, from the time the 2yo was an infant, I got a lot of "wow, three boys ... what are you going to do?" comments, to which I kept saying "I'm going to put in a urinal!" No one believed me - until we actually did! It's wonderful. With friends over, we often have way more than just four boys in the house, so the urinal gets a LOT of use. The boys love that since it's "no hands" I don't harp on them to wash their hands quite so thoroughly every time (one's the master of "water on, hands in, water off" ... soap???), and I love that it's easy to lift the potty-trainer up with no intervening steps!Maintenance/cleaning is easy enough that the 10yo in charge of cleaning that bathroom is happier now that it's been installed because he says that the whole bathroom is easier to clean (I agree). This urinal is also much nicer looking than the ones in public places, so it complements the bathroom remodel well. Most of the compliments we get are on how different it looks from what people had imagined on hearing we had installed one!Now I just need to figure out how to rearrange the other bathroom to fit another one of these in ... ;)

UPDATE 3.01.10; This is disappointing to report because we wanted this toilet to perform well over time but the cleaning schedule recommended by Kohler DID NOT work for our home. They recommend a bi-monthly flush with several gallons of water. We did this on schedule, kept the urinal pristine clean, did everything they asked, including using their products and a year and a half later THE DRAIN COMPLETELY CLOGGED FROM SEDIMENT. This was not placed in a public urinal where hundreds of people are using it but in our home where only 2 people use it. Over time, during the bi-monthly flush out, the water would not drain as quickly as when it was first installed. Turns out, the sediment build-up was solid as a rock. Even snaking the drain was futile (the snake could not break it up let alone fit through the clogged area. Chemicals were useless to dissolve the rock hard sediment as reported by all plumbers we asked. Very disappointing because we are huge fans of other Kohler products.
