From the Manufacturer

If you want the look of an apron-front sink, but don't want to replace your cabinets and countertop, you'll love the Vault. This top-mount apron-front sink features a thin, 1.25 mm rim and an innovative shortened, Self-Trimming apron, allowing for installation in most existing standard cabinets and laminate countertops. Unlike most farmhouse sinks, the Vault apron-front sink doesn't require a special apron-front cabinet, making it ideal for replacement or remodel situations and enabling a fresh look with minimal time and expense. The installation requires only the removal of the cabinet's false drawer front and a simple cut to the cabinet face. The unique Self-Trimming apron overlaps the cabinet face, ensuring consistently beautiful installation results. Simply be sure to use the Pre-Installation Sink, Counter and Cabinet Compatibility Template to ensure the sink will fit in your kitchen setup. It comes included with the sink or can be ordered ahead by calling 1-800-4KOHLER.

The sink arrived with multiple dents and dings in a box that looks like it had been dropped or crushed. The condition speaks poorly of the quality control at Kohler. It seems that the steel (18 gauge) ought to be more resilient on a product of this size and price. And certainly better boxed. Thankfully, Amazon reimbursed me for the product.

The sink finished was damaged and one corner welding failed; called KOHLER for warranty and it was replaced immediately.

i honestly bought this sink after cracking my porcelain farm house sink only because it was the only stainless steel sink on the market that had dimensions that would be close to filling the cutout in my counter, that wasnt going to set me back over 1k.i was worried about it coming damaged from a lot of the other reviews but mine came in perfect condition, overall the sink looks beautiful but like everyone else has commented the overall strength of the material is not great the sink will blemish pretty easily if your not careful i scuffed the top back when installing i notice it but I'm sure guests will not. the design of the basin isnt amazing might retain water in the front.

I've always wanted a farmhouse sink. When we started remodeling the kitchen we bought cabinets off the shelf from Home Depot. We bought the apron sink style base cabinet. I did not realize when I bought the cabinet that the farmhouse sink would have to be top mounted. I searched for a while before I found this one. Boy am I glad that I had to get the top mount type. I love this sink. It is deep and it goes so well with our countertops (gray), door pulls, and hinges. It looks amazing!

I'm a professional within the restaurant industry and have been around a lot of restaurant equipment and stainless steel and know for a fact there are quality differences in stainless steel which specifically relates to the hardness of the metal. If you can tell by the pictures, within a week this is what my sink looks like after normal use. kohler makes no claims about the quality of their stainless steel so shame on me for assuming they would use what the industry calls aircraft quality t304. In addition the second picture shows the faulty spot welds on the tracking that holds the clamps to the sink. I spent more on this sink due to Kohlers brand equity and quality perception compared to some of the lesser-known brands on Amazon. If you are in the market for a sink definitely look at other brands that specifically state what type of stainless steel quality they use. At some point I will be calling Kohler headquarters letting them know about my dissatisfaction. On top of my dissatisfaction I originally bought the sink on Amazon warehouse deals and it came in completely damaged with missing parts and it was stated like new but not in the original box, I guess I wasn't meant to have a kit new kitchen sink. But it does add new life to a kitchen that I am not ready to totally renovate

Just had it retro fitted (professionally) into our exisitng cabinets and grantie counter tops. It's GORGEOUS! Each sink is SUPER spacious, giving me plentn of room to wasy & rinse large serving trays and mixing bowls. Could NOT be happier about that. While I appreciate the "sound baffling pads" Kohler placed all over it, I simply don't understand why they didn't cover the entire bottom of each sink? Because they didn't, the bowls aren't insulated AT ALL and water doesn't stay hot. NOT GOOD! We intend to find some way to insulate it, but for what we paid for the sink, we feel we shouldn't have too. That said, the local Kitchen and Bath store was wildly impressed by the sink, took down the model number and will be suggesting it to folks who want to replace an exisiting sink.
