This skylight is not made of polycarbonate material as the details and description state. This is some form of cheap fragile plastic that's easily damaged/cracked like acrylic plastics. As a reference, acrylic plastic is 10x more impact resistant than glass,Polycarbonate is 250x more impact resistant than glass. Polycarbonate material is used for riot shields used by military and police, Polycarbonate is also used as bullet proof glass, protective eyeglasses. Acrylic plastics are less impact resistant and far more delicate. Acrylic is used for LCD screens, display cases, and fish tanks because of the clarity acrylic plastic has and not durability.
