Tried to submit this to customer service, instead of leaving a review - but they wanted so much extra info, including photos of your brew, etc, that it made it too cumbersome to submit.I thought the carbo cap was supposed to eliminate the need for burping. When my brews (jun and ginger ale) get nicely carbonated, releasing the pull tab causes the liquid to just shoot out the side holes of the carbo cap - so, I basically have to sit and 'burp' using the pull tab the same way I would just slightly twist my regular bottle cap a bit to release pressure. I was under the impression that the cap would regulate the bottle at a pressure that could be opened at any time, have nice carbonation, but not want to explode/pour out the top.The tops also don't have enough texture around the rim. They are very diffulcult to twist off. The mechanism on the top also impedes your grip on the cap, further hindering you from getting the top off.

I have used this 1 time for my 2nd fermentation of kombucha. It worked well to give me the carbonation I was hoping for. I may not have let it sit long enough, before I released the cap, so I believe next time it will be even more effervescing.

I love these caps. I have found several advantages. #1 Peace of mind that my bottles won’t explode #2 They fit the bottles on the Kombucha I buy in the store, so If I want to share with a friend, In giving them a disposable bottle and cap after they go into the fridge #3 the wide mouth bottles easily allow you to add fruit with a spoon or a larger funnel as opposed to the small opening in flip top bottles. Also makes cleaning the larger mouth bottles easier. #4 I prefer drinking out of the bottles with larger openings #5 I didn’t have to purchase new bottles since I recycle the store bought Kombucha bottles now. I suppose I could probably buy pressurized larger opening mouth bottles with screw on lids, but I had already invested in flip tops. When you have a lot of fizz, the Carbo Caps allow you to gently release the pressure instead of a big explosion of fizz and loss of liquid. One reviewer said that the air leaks. This is not the case if put on properly. These caps make an excellent seal and they are well made. I just wish they were a little cheaper

I love the peace of mind that comes with knowing my carbonation is under control, sparing me from the trial and error of timing my fermentation perfectly. The caps are straightforward and user-friendly, making it a breeze to keep an eye on the brewing process as it unfolds.

I enjoy the peace of mind that my carbonation is regulated and I don't have to be as experimental in figuring out the perfect length of time to allow my fermentation to occur. The caps are simple, easy to work with. Makes it easy to monitor the brewing process as it happens.

Arrived on time - purchased the 6 pack, so the price was better. We started making kombucha & concern re: too much carbonation brought us to these. Making our 1st batch with these & so far working great.

I was excited to get these for my brewing to avoid exploding bottles and no checking required. Unfortunately, they don't seal properly so let out the gas anyways, which defeats the whole purpose of having them. Unfortunately I've missed the return window as it took a while to source the right booties, so now I have these expensive but useless things lying around. You're better off using regular caps and burping them

The first few batches of carbonated water I tried to carbonate with these (using champagne yeast in sugar and water) were a disappointment. I don’t know if I had the wrong level of sugar, if I didn’t have the carbo-caps tightened correctly, or what, but I got minimal bubbly. I wound up going to get a CO2 tank with the aim of going the PET bottle route, but I don’t want to waste the growlers and these caps after spending all that money on them. So I pulled my kombucha SCOBY out of its hotel and started up a fresh batch of kombucha, which is making now.I’ve never done a secondary fermentation of kombucha before, so I’ll try these for that. I never was too wild about the flavor of kombucha, either, but I may decide that a flavored secondary ferment would make a good “splash it in” addition to my carbonated water. I got the 35psi caps, figuring it would not be wise to go higher than that with a glass growler. My growlers are squat little dark-brown glass bottles that sit on the top shelf of my refrigerator, even with these caps on, so I’ll use them. We’ll see. It’ll be another adventure. I have to say, I’m impressed with the training on the Kombucha.com website. I may change my mind about kombucha after pursuing some of their techniques and flavors.
