Your cart is empty.Kenzan or Japanese flower frogs, are used for keeping flowers in place in an arrangement. The base of a kenzan is very heavy, preventing any movement when submersed in water or when used to arrange a large amount of flowers or branches. The sharp, stainless steel needles attached to the base are very sturdy, helping to keep the flowers and branches securely in place. Traditionally, kenzan are made of gold-colored brass needles, which can often distract from the flower arrangment due to their brightness and shininess, especially when used in dark colored vases. This black kenzan solves the problem by concealing itself thanks to its dark color, leaving the natural beauty of the arrangement to take the spotlight.

This kenzan is a great size and has substantial needles for holding stems. The black color is perfect for dark containers when you don't want the kenzan to be obvious.

Arrived quickly, feels like quality. It was too big for the vase I'd intended it for, but that was my bad for not measuring its opening first.

Love this simple, perfectly designed Asian flower frog….disappears in a dark bowl. Gives a lovely, elegant display to single flowers or stems .

I just purchased this and I'm happy with the product. It seems solid and I immediately put together an arrangement using it. I've never used a flower frog before so I had no idea what size to get. This size fits perfectly at the bottom of a normal sized cereal bowl. Your arrangment will end up quite a bit larger so this is a nice size for making arrangements for your dinner table. It allows your flowers to stand straight up in your container so it gives you more creative options for creating arrangements than if you don't use a frog. Also I like the idea that I can reuse it unlike floral foam. I also recently learned how to grid with greens. If you grid with greens you don't have to use foam or a frog- I found a youtube video that explains it and that works also. You basically form a frog or grid with the greenery just by laying it in your bowl or container first, then you use this as a grid for your flowers. Though this method works, a flower frog allows for a more secure arrangement and you can arrange flowers more creatively because they will stand straight up by themselves.

This is a perfect frog, larger than most, very substantial (i.e., heavy). I haven't really used it yet, but am hoping to take a class and will use it then.
