This trowel has a coat of paint on it that makes it look great when it’s new. The first couple of times I used it the paint was not a problem. Then it started to come off in chunks and it was adversely affecting the finish of the concrete. The only decent solution was to sand off the remaining paint and carry on with a non-painted trowel. Now, it works great.

Great product. I see a lot of mention of the paint on the float. It’s irrelevant. It rubbed off in one 30 yard day and does not matter. I used to use canvas resin floats until I got this one and now it’s my go to float. Great Kraft product and I love that it’s made in the US.

Outer coating on the face of the mag float started chipping off after 3 separate pours totaling 15 yards. This made it a little more difficult to get a good smooth surface to promote paste.I sanding the entire coating off of the face right out of the box.
