This is Kryptonite's version of a MasterLock. Not sure if it can be popped with a hammer or shimmed. I was hoping for bearings but it has pawl type lock mechanism. I need it for a gym locker but I'd use something else for a bike. Definitely better construction than a MasterLock, just not up to usual Kryptonite security or quality. Pins cannot be switched out, which is another disappointment. It hurts their brand.

The only difference between this and a masterlock #3 is that it costs twice as much. A baby could pick this lock.

What can I say, it's a lock and it works. I bought several and they are all keyed different from one another which is nice, because I have bought other brands and the same key worked on a few of them which doesn't make me feel very secure.

Its a pretty standard lock, if you're not sure what they do.. then maybe you shouldn't get one. However.. its a durable well constructed lock for the particular design type. And its quality is what I would expect from Kryptoite

So if you've never used a lock like this then maybe this review will be helpful to you. When you insert the key and turn it, the shackle is released. Why are you still reading this? Just buy it already. I'm using it outside and it has started to rust a little after a couple months. Whatever. It seems like a solid enough lock.

The lock is well made, strong, and they keys worked easily. It seems to be quite sturdy, and the locking part (I can't remember what it's called) is hardened.
