This is a very large tree topper, the capiz star part alone (not including the rays) is 14" tall. In general it's very pretty and I love the rays. But in a dark room, the tree topper lights make it look like a random blob, not a star let alone bethlehem star. I might try to rearrange them, or pull out certain bulbs. If you have a very large tree this will be a good star. My tree is 7.5 ft tall but only 37 in diameter, midway between regular size and pencil. The star is really too large for my tree but it's better than the dinky one I had on there before.Update: I bought a smaller Kurt Adler bethlehem star (11") and then took the ray-halo thing from this star and taped it to the back of the smaller star and the result is amazing! The circle frame of the halo is visible but it looks really cool.
