I read the reviews on this thread and very happy with my decision to get this shifter oppose to the Indian brand. I also looked into and read other reviews on both the Indian heel shifter and this Kuryakyn shifter and felt this was the best option for me. I am a size 13 in shoes and definitely need all the space I can get. It was really easy to install especially if you know what you're doing. It was added on my 2020 Roadmaster Dark Horse.

I have been looking for a heel shifter that made scenes for my Indian. The indian running boards are longer than the average cruiser,, even longer than the Harley and I have used the Indian heel shifter but was a waste of money because it doesn’t extend to the end of the running board which makes it useless because it takes up foot (boot) space on the board. This perfectly designed shifter extends past the end of the long running board and allows the actual heel portion to stick up high enough to be properly functional! Awesome job Kuryakyn! This fits my 2021 Springfield perfectly.

Heel shifter for my 20 Indian Chieftain fits great. Better fit than the Indian OEM heel shifter. It arrived earlier than expected. Great service.

I know some riders don't like a heel shifter, me, I think they should come on all touring bikes. When I bought my 2020 Indian Roadmaster, I knew I would add a heel shifter. I had intended to install the OEM, but after reading reviews, I went with the Kuryakyn shifter. I couldn't be more happy. No floorboard area is taken by the shifter because it comes up from below. I do recommend the Indian pegs because the rear needs to be short. My first one was too long and rested against my calf when standing still. The upgrade to Indian's front and rear pegs solved the problem. The installation only took me an hour. Very pleased.

I'm happy with the product design. It fits below and behind the floorboard as opposed to on top of it. Installation was very easy and the instructions are great. The price is reasonable and delivery was quick. I recommend using small shifting peg to complete your setup. This will prevent obstruction when your foot is flat on the ground. I give this product a rating of four out of five, because two small washers needed for assembly per instructions were missing.

I installed the heel shift about four months ago as one one of the first add-ons for my (new to me) 2014 Chief Vintage. Before buying, I compared this Kuryakyn heel shift to the Indian product. As "official" Indian after-market gewgahs are pricey, I was not surprised that the Kuryakyn model was less than half the price of Indian's. And the Kuryakyn heel shift offers a better design - the shift sits lower and behind the rear of the floorboard. There's little interference with your full use of the floorboard real estate for resting your foot. Out of the box, you will appreciate the finish and substantial heft of construction. The chrome was evenly applied and free of imperfections. Installation was easy once I got beyond the poorly-written instructions. As another reviewer noted, be sure to use the spacers provided when installing so the shift properly aligns. I also took note of another reviewer's suggestion to use a shorter peg, as a longer peg may interfere with your left calf when your foot is on the ground. I preferred a peg with a larger diameter and so I purchased this peg: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002OPPSGU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is fatter and short. I think you can add whatever peg suits your preference. In sum, I was happy with the functionality and price. This is one piece of equipment that, while not essential, is oh-so-nice to have on on a bagger.

I've had this heal shifter on my Roadmaster only a short time and I love it. I originally had the Indian version but I did not like the way it sat above the floor board and restricted my foot movement. The Indian one also required lifting my leg unnaturally high to actually shift. This Kuryakyn sits to the rear of the floor board in a great spot. It's a very natural shift motion, and I get to use the whole floorboard. The only caution is that you will want to buy a short peg for this shift lever. Where it sits, with a standard peg (I tried the one that came with my Indian heal shifter), it tended to hit my leg when at a stop. So, I bought the shortest peg I could find, which is the Indian Pinnacle heal shifter peg.As a result, I have the Kuryakyn shift lever and the Indian Pinnacle peg, and they work great together!

This heel shifter mounts under the floor board allowing use of the entire board. The Indian brand heel shifter mounts on top, reducing the useable foot space. Easy to follow directions, quality product and, if you take your time, looks/works great.
