The KYB MonoMax is a heavy duty monotube shock absorber that provides the most handling, control and durability of any KYB shock; and it’s just for trucks. The MonoMax’s tough design automatically adjusts to driving conditions with fade-free performance. The KYB MonoMax has an outstanding reputation for vehicles that do real work, go off-road, tow a trailer or haul heavy loads. It uses a work-ready, zinc-coated steel piston ring and includes an off-road dust boot.

04 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. The lower rubber bushing is so soft the shock moves enough to hit against the axle housing causing an annoying rattle. Had one replaced then the rattle started on the opposite side. I returned them both for a refund. JUNK!!!

They were a perfect fit...easy to install and a great price. The only thing I was disappointed about was, in the description, it stated they come with boot dust covers. These did not.

fast shipping, didn't have rubber boot, but jeep rides completely different! I'm happy, will repost in the future to tell how they hold up. (Installed today)

These shocks were exactly what I was looking for and offered more control and a better ride, especially with a heavy load or towing a trailer. Much better for me than the standard shocks that came on the vehicle.

They're shock absorbers, not much to say. Installed easily. Car drives and rides like new. Have to wait 50,000 miles to comment on how long they last.

This is my second high-praise report to you about these shocks. They fit as smooth as i expected a highly reputable product wouldfit because a local auto talk show out of Cypress TX has always recommended KYB at least for the past 10yrs I have listened to hisadvice on vehicle repair/maintenance. H has never been wrong and this confirms his record for me when I purchased these andexperienced easy installation and a mega-super ride since!! Now don't lose this report.

I bought the KYB MonoMax to replace the stock shocks on a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Special Edition (pretty much the Laredo). 114000 miles on the originals and they were leaking grease and the back end would slide noticeably when going over dips or bumps on the freeway. Although the actual product looks different than the photo ( it does not have the rubber pleated bottom half) it is just straight red and does not have the writing on it.These were fairly simple to replace and the Jeep has gone from 19MPG to just over 21MPG just from changing the rear ones. I did it for the safety, but I will take any help on the gas mileage. The rear does not compress down when loaded with stuff and the ride is a lot stiffer in the back, which is a good thing. The kids like not being "tossed" from side to side so much.
