These are LOW COMPRESSION shocks and struts. These are designed for the OEM suspension geometry and travel. That said, they do not work well with lowering springs. They will bottom out too often if your car is lowered anything more than 1in. If lowered approx 1.5 inches they will bottom out all the time. Hence the reason the company says having a car lowered like this will void the Lifetime Garantee. However, these are absolutely wonderful if your car has a stock setup. With the stock ride height, they will go over bump like butter, even on a stiffer settings.I know this because I learned the hard way. I had originally paired these with my eibach pro kit springs which over time has lowered my car about 1.5 inches. I thought the KYBs were terrible. Then, I put poly isolators on the fronts, which raised the car about .5 inches - that alone was big enough of an improvment to where I did the rears with the same isolators as well. The ride was much better. Later I wanted to see what putting back the OEM springs would do, and that was it. I'm not going back to lowering springs. I couldn't be happier with the ride quality and handling (for street). Each model shock is different with how many adjustments there are. For my 1999 Mustang, the fronts have 4 settings and rears have 8.street driving I have found the lowest settings are really comfortable. When trying the 2 front 4 rear setting (these are the KYBs settings when you get them) they are pretty stiff, and still comfortable. I reccomend this for street, and the very lowest for long trips. Anything above 2 front 4 rear is way too stiff for daily driving IMO.These are a good option ONLY if you want to keep the ride height. Otherwise, it would be in your best interest to go with a high compression shock/strut like tokico illumina or koni yellows for having adjusability.

Good deal for a low budget adjustable shock, but there are better ones out there for the performance minded people. You get what you pay for I guess! It is nice to have the lifetime warranty though since most aftermarket performance shocks do not do that.

When ordering from Amazon beware you may receive one shock absorber (and be billed) while the second shock of a pair is back ordered even though they indicated it was avaialable when you ordered. Beware! Be certain that you do NOT check the default box to ship items individually. I have been billed for three and have the fourth on backorder. I have learned a lesson not to rely on Amazon when I need a product immediately. This is not a criticism of the specific product, but it is a criticism of the Amazon policies and service. I have been a loyal Amazon customer and will continue to purchase items that are not time sensitive. I cannot rely on their representations of availability.
