I knew I needed shocks because I kept hitting my head on the tailgate of my wagon when it was left in the raised position. Pulled the old, muck-covered shocks off and I realized how smart I am! I had a pair of these shocks which I installed so long ago I could not remember doing so. Ride now DRAMATICALLY restored. It now corners like new, and the car stays so level through hard, small-radius turns that my wife noticed the difference from the passenger seat.Leave hardware just barely tight, lower car, slightly loosen and then properly torque the hardware. This assures that the rubber insulators at each end do not get overly twisted. The instructions in each box show how to release the pressurized gas in them and how to drain the hydraulic fluid so they can be sent to a landfill safely and environmentally responsibly.The gas adjust is automatic and done internally based on road conditions at the moment- there is no adjustment- just install as mentioned.

I installed these on my 93 Volvo 240. KYB GasAdjust shocks are monotube shocks. They have been around for years, and are valved/gas charged to firm up stock sprung cars for more performance. Most of the reviews that say that they are harsh are probably using them with lowering springs which will by nature have a higher spring rate. If you pair stock length shocks with lowering springs, the shocks could even be bottoming which would definitely rattle your teeth. I paired these with a set of Moog cargo coils which really improved the overall handling of my 240. Stability is awesome now. Fit was perfect, no spacers needed. No rattles or clunking like with the Bilstein touring shocks. These are not Bilstein or Koni monotubes, but are very good for the money. A great value in my book.

Shocks arrived yesterday 4th Sept via STD Amazon shipping DPD this time . Ordered it 24th Aug. This Made in Japan KYB Shock seems to have good built quality & came with excellent secure packaging. Installed it , and the road-holding..now on the Volvo has vastly improved! . Originally ordered Monroe 5868 OESpectrum & strut 73950 but was delivered a leaky and rusted rear shock. Got refund and ordered these KYB rear shocks instead. Very happy with this KYB product , a direct replacement for 1977 Volvo 264GL B27E Rear shock P/N 1205916 and looks good too. Will definitely buy KYB Gas-A-Just monotube again .

i put these bad boys on the rear of my 1976 245 and now my car rides better then it did in 1976!!! also was kinda shocked to see (lol, get it??) that these are still made in Japan. Perhaps these are just old stock, but i couldnt get over how affordable these are. the build quality is as good as the 40 year old OEM ones i just pulled off. im hoping these are the last and final set this car ever needs

I'm very happy with the product, the quality and it's ability to work as expected. My mechanic had a difficult time trying to understand the paper instructions on how to adjust them. So, as a result, they were not adjusted at all and installed as they arrived. My Volvo rear end rides like a pickup truck! LOL! Anyway, mechanic said he'd try again on the adjustment. But, hey those puppies come really stiff! Ride is smooth when they back is packed up full with heavy items so, I know the shocks are doing their thing!

I installed these monotube shocks on a 1990 Volvo 240 as part of a restoration. I have put about 8k on them since. They turned just what I wanted. They provide added stability without reducing ride quality. They are probably the best choice for the price.
