Replacing an old worn out strut means replacing this insulator and the shock (strut mount) over the years this insulator tends to wear down separating the strut spring from the base.ONE interesting fact There is a rubber insulator on the top of the spring just below the strut mount install kit. This rubber insulator is a vital part of the replacement of the strut and the top mount kit and the bottom insulator BUT: this rubber insulator is NOT available for purchase except from the Buick dealer which means you will pay an arm and a leg for one and need to wait a few days for it to be delivered to them
