On a trip from SC to PA with my 2 frenchies and on the way back my SUV broke down in WV. Not the sweltering heat of SC but still a hot day and I was VERY worried about my dogs overheating. I immediately soaked these in my cooler and put them on the dogs and they stayed wet for a few hours. We were stranded out there for hours. When they did dry up I poured water on them to cool them down again. The dogs weren't crazy about that part. I had used these earlier in my trip and they worked well. We'd have to stop at a scorching rest stops to let the dogs out and these were invaluable at keeping them cool during that. Early on I made the mistake of waiting until they got hot to put them on. Dumb. Once they were hot and I got the vests on them, the cool down was not immediate but probably about 10 minutes. After that anytime I anticipated they MIGHT get hot the vests went on. Also VERY easy to put on them. Slip over their heads easily and velcro underneath. Fit my frenchies perfectly which makes me think they would be a good fit for most any dog. Don't generally review products unless I'm really pleased with them. These are great. Would def buy them again. You could even take your dog for a walk on a warmer day with these.

This is so great for the hot summer days for our labradoodle. I soak it in cold water and on really hot days I keep it in the fridge before using it. It is super easy to use, fits well, our dog loves it (as she's much cooler in it) and during the walk I sometimes just pour cold water over it to keep it cool. Definitely a great buy!If I had one complaint it's that it could be a bit longer for our type of dog (it fits great but doesn't cover the back all the way - if I sized up it wouldn't fit right in front or around her).

It is a little hard to put a number of stars for this review -- if I could do 4.5 starts, I would.I do believe the product delivers what it says it will for the most part. I decided to go with 5 stars because I think the only issue might be human error on our part for not playing around with it some more (as in, adjusting fit with a harness.)It slips over their head --which could be an issue for some dogs, then you just Velcro at the belly area. It is lightweight and the purple-colored version came as described and pictured.One of our big dogs seems to get hotter than the other one and we love to take them on hikes through the woods and different trails---now that it is summer time in MS, it can get unbearable with the heat index and humidity.I was hoping to be able to put this on her and then put her harness on over it --just for when we are going on our trail walks. I wet it in the sink and wrung it out like it says to do. I put it on her and I'm not sure if I should have wrung more out as it was kind of dripping, but I was trying to keep it wet enough -- but then after getting harness on and getting outside I'm not sure how wet/cool it stayed. It's kind of hard to know how well it keeps them cool considering you can't ask them (ha), but I am gathering the best way to utilize this is if you are able to sort of pour more water on the vest as needed to keep it cool. This is just not as easy if you need to wear a harness over it -- but again, that may not be a concern for most others.Overall, I find this product to be good quality and a good value for the price. I would recommend it to others.

The vest doesn’t stay cool for long at all, and if you don’t put it on right away, you have to find a way to keep it cool. We bought it to put on our dog after he ran around the dog park, but by that time the vest wasn’t cold at all. It’s also pretty bulky and didn’t work with his harness.

Nothing good about this cooling vest. It doesn't "cool" dog down at all, in this sense it's a waste of money. Beyond this major flaw (doesn't cool down pet at all) it's a pretty color. It's ok in a pinch using as a light jacket only, but does NOT cool dog off at all. Very misleading & do not recommend buying if expecting this jacket to "cool" dog off.

The material of this jacket is really nice. The fabric stays wet for a long time which means my dog stays cool for a long time. The pattern is the cutest one I’ve seen and the fit is great (follow their sizing chart!). Also, this jacket is super easy to get on my dog because I don’t have to move her legs all over the place. Put her head through and Velcro on top and done! Love! PLUS the reflective pieces on the front for safety at night?? MMM!!
