This paper is a good balance of absorbency. Itis closer to cooked than half cooked - easier to work with.

I got 9 packages and 30 pieces have marks on xuan or mat area; some mat paper connected to xuan area is not smooth. This paper doesn’t work like xuan paper but if you practicing and learning about the paper then it’s a good paper for your painting. It’s a very good price for xuan paper with mat. I don’t have any experience with other brands.

I like it until I found 5 out of 10 paper have dent mark, but I already used half of products.

The shuen paper is high quality and takes ink very well. Excellent for calligraphy and painting subjects.

This paper is thick enough to stand on its own an does not wrinkle at all. Compared to regular thin single-layer xuan paper used for practice, this needs a lot more ink. Even with a good amount of ink on the brush, i was still able to get nice dry-brush effects.
