La Bella Has Over 400 Years of String Making Experience
The tradition of string making dates back to the 1640s in Salle, Italy, where the Mari family supplied gut strings to the famous violin builders of Cremona. In 1913, brothers Olinto & Emilio Mari arrived in New York bringing their family craft to the States. Over the years, the brothers shaped the landscape of the string industry with their innovative designs. the smoothness and sound of these strings is fantastic. i am using one set on a custom made short scale bass and the other on a fender mustang bass. GREAT.

These are great high quality strings. When I got them I realized they were 80/20 Bronze and not Phosphor Bronze like I thought, but I went ahead and put them on and they sound great. Not sure why the other reviewer didn’t like them. These were the closest to the gauge of my full size Gold Tone bass and it’s important to keep as close to the original as possible because of the intonation on the saddle.Any way they sound fantastic.

I hate these strings. They feel awful and sound as bad a cheap Phosphor Bronze strings. I put them on an acoustic-electric bass but had to take the lose and replace them with LaBella tapewounds.
