The pan is made from fairly thick steel, .050" +/_ measured with a micrometer. The paint appears to be reasonably thick and well applied. HOWEVER, before installing these, you need to check for flatness. I work in an industrial facility with access to a granite height table used for measuring flatness. I placed the pan face down and it was not flat. There was some wobble to it and one corner was slightly bent upward which would have affected its sealing capability had I not noticed the defect. It was easy to correct with a few taps of a hammer though, so not a deal breaker. My advice is the product is a good quality one, just be aware to check the flatness before installing it by putting it on a table or other surface you are confident is reasonably flat.

It took me ordering 8 transmission pans to finally get one that did not have a stripped out drain plug. The previous 7 I ordered you had to fight to get the drain plug out and once you did the threads were destroyed. This pan worked perfectly.

Quality seems to be pretty good and went on Dodge Caravan with no leaks or warp issues. Great for replacing a rusty/leaking Pentastar 3.6 Caravan/Town and Country oil pan.
