Made of solid oak yet still lightweight, this weaving loom is easily assembled and disassembled without tools and sturdy enough for everything from lace to rugs and fine threads to heavy cords. The loom features a novel shed changing device which automatically changes the position of warp threads, an integral warping frame for the preparation of the warp, and a tension control system for easy adjustment of warp tension. Weave pieces up to 20 inches wide and 60 inches long using the standard warping procedure, longer pieces can be working using advanced techniques.

My loom is missing a bolt and knob, which my husband replaced with a bolt, washers, and a nut. The real problem with this loom is the whole thing is held together with heavy rubber bands and the mechanism to hold the string heddles kept sliding off the side rails. I bought 4 brace plates, screwed them onto the side rails sticking up to form a grove to keep the thingy on the rails. Now that I've spent hours just getting ready to use, I will use it. I would not recommend this to friends or family.

not at all for beginners, this loom is great for those with experience with weaving in multiple ways. somewhat modular too, in that it can be a cycle loom, one could roll the warp onto the back and front bars to create cloth/warp bars, it can be used simply as a frame, it can take whatever form needed for your type of weaving. the shed device is a little tricky at first but you catch on quick. the finish on the wood does make it somewhat tough to change the shed quickly, but not so bad as to make this impossible to use. I love it for small projects and samples. pairs nicely with a reed!

This is not a beginning loom, unless you know what you're in for. The warping process is very time-consuming and takes patience and care. However, once you get to the actual weaving you will not be disappointed. My only peeve is the instructions! Seriously, I will retype them and reformat them for you if you'd like, because right now, whoooooo-boy, what a mess. Missing words, diagrams that leave a lot to be desired, and just overall not up to the quality I expect from a great company like Lacis.

Just got this loom earlier today... the only reason I'm giving it three stars because the instruction manual is worthless. and it's hard to put together. Tried to figure out how to put it together on youtube; failed there as well. Hoping someone who make a closeup video of how to set up the loom.

I love it! So smooth and strong. I have been watching the you tube video for a week. I have all my heddle strings tired and ready.

Nothing wrong, except that from the beginner's viewpoint assembling and using is impossibly complicated, and the enclosed instruction is inadequate. If the pre-purchasing information included a link to a detailed video, a potential buyer could evaluate the chances of her / his making it work. For very advanced users it is probably a good device.

Wonderful 2 Shaft Loom. Works as great! Use the Video instructions, not the print. It is as the name states first and foremost a Tapestry Loom. can it weave none-tapestry weave? Yes, but its not really designed for that.

Although the vendor was very accommodating when I reported that my first loom arrived with a crack in one segment of the frame and a replacement and return mailing label were sent out instantly, I think this loom is really just a toy. And as with many toy versions of real tools, it is much more frustrating to try to work with than the real thing. The shedding device attaches with rubber bands of a specific size and is awkward and clumsy. Warping is too difficult. If you are interested in tapestry weaving, I believe you are better off spending more on a Mirrix loom.
