Your cart is empty.Lakai Footwear Limited is an American footwear company based in Torrance, California that creates shoes designed for and inspired by skateboarding. Lakai was founded by professional skateboarders and Girl Skateboards co-founders Mike Carroll and Rick Howard in 1999. Both Carroll and Howard decided that they wanted to make a contribution to the skate footwear industry by founding their own company rather than being sponsored. At the time that the Lakai idea was conceived, both riders had left their positions on the DC Shoes team roster.

As an adult who had Vans in my teens, these are a revelation!! They feel so sturdy and comfortable compared to any other sneakers that I have owned (Adidas, Puma, Brooks, Allbirds, DC, etc.). The grip on the bottoms feel good and I’ve been trying them with my new penny board and the only problem is my skill level, not the shoes!I love the skater shoe and retro sneaker style and hate the newest trends in exercise shoes. Hate, hate, hate. But this one! I love!!! They are nice and low profile but have that sort of “bump” on the tongue that all the skating shoes have. The bottom of my Lakais actually feel like a cushion between me and the ground. I normally prefer my leather boots or loafers because I like a slightly dressier casual look, but I have been wearing these so much that they are already showing quite a bit of dirt after only 10 days! lol.I am a Men’s Brannock 7 and the sizing was right on the money. In boots I am usually a size 6 or 6.5 in men’s so I would definitely get your Brannock sizing. I typically wear EU 39 or Women’s size 8 as well.I got these because they were $50 and I hadn’t tried them before. But after this experience I would not hesitate to pay full price for any model. Highly highly recommend!!!
