At the current listing of around $20, this is a good value for an awesome little shade that looks great on an Aerogarden and does a great job at reducing the light glare without blocking the light for the plants. The lamp shade itself looks like a 'normal' lamp shade, and it's made of the same material you might find a shade made of, stretched out by a lightweight metal frame, with tons of little clips holding the lampshade in place. It's actually quite surprisingly well-designed, and it's easy to put together, within just a couple minutes even if you're taking your time. It doesn't weigh down the Aerogarden in any significant way and it should be compatible with any similarly-shaped kind of hydroponic garden. The little sticky gel pads it comes with do a good job of keeping it in place so it can't slide around, too. It's a great design and it's very well-made, so I highly recommend it if you're at all interested in cutting down on your hydroponic garden's scattered light! The downsides of this are minor but they are worth considering so I'm only giving this 4 stars. There's the main issue, which is the dinky, tiny little 'gel' sticky pads that are the only thing holding the lampshade from sliding around. They're not ideal, they took 3 times longer than putting the whole lampshade together, and they can't be taken and re-used easily at all so you've really got to just make sure you put it where you want it as soon as you put it on. One other thing to consider is, if you've got a hydroponic garden with a flimsily-secured light, then this might not work super well for you.Overall, I do recommend this lampshade, despite my minor issues with how it's secured to the light of the garden.* I only review things that I personally use myself on a regular and continued basis.* I always give my full, honest, unbiased and unfiltered opinion on everything I review.* I will not hold back or avoid describing any issues I have with a product.* I write exactly what I think about things - the good, the bad, the ugly, and the questionable.* If I get multiple of something it's because I regularly use and need both of them.* And, I will update my review if something breaks, stops working as intended, or otherwise doesn't hold up as expected.

This is an excellent addition to my hydroponic station that's on my kitchen counter. I'm not a big fan of the neon lighting effect... when the rest of my kitchen has deliberately soft warm lighting. This hood shade diffuses the light and diverts the glare back down toward the plants.

I love these lamp shades for my old six-pod Aerogarden system! They perfectly diffuse the bright light, making my growing area much more comfortable. The 10.6" square size fits fairly well, and the beige linen appearance blends nicely with my decor. While they're a bit heavy, causing my lamp to tilt slightly, the functionality and improved ambiance are worth the minor inconvenience. Overall, these shades offer great value for enhancing my indoor garden setup.

This seems like a quality light shade. The pieces snap together with no problems, and the material feels like it's of a lasting quality. Unfortunately, I didn't pay enough attention to the size of the shade and only saw that it worked for Gardencube hydroponic systems. I'm giving it 5-stars because I'm certain it would have worked as intended if I had a smaller Gardencube model. It's not the fault of the shade that I didn't read the details closely, as I looked again when it arrived and the listing says right on it that the shade I got is too small for my 12-basket Gardencube.

I like using my Hydroponic Garden in the winter season. There is nothing like having fresh herbs and lettuce in the winter months. What I don't like about the system is the unpleasantly bright harsh light it emits. This lamp shade is a good solution. It came well packaged in a flat box, but it was relatively easy to put together. There is a velcro strip that closes the fabric shade around the frame. That means there is definitely a nicer side to the shade itself. The natural linen-like fabric looks nice with my growing plants and makes the whole system look less commercial.I put it on my rectangular 6 pod system and it fits well and does not interfere with my growing plants. It does not block out all the light, but it definitely improves the visual impact of the growing lights. It would be great if it could be completely blocked , but I don't think that is possible. In the end this is a good addition to my little garden.
