Easy to put together and its doing its job

It's a little rickety, but it comes with flexible straps to attach it to something else to help secure it a lot. It also has adjustable feet to make it more steady. Even so, though, even when reasonably tightened, the frame wobbles quite a bit more than my preference. I probably will resort to using the straps and not putting things I'm concerned with sliding off on the top shelf. Other than being a bit wobbly, though, it does seem plenty strong. I'm not concerned with some pretty good loads being on the shelf, just with things sliding off. If you put it somewhere it won't get tugged or bumped, it shouldn't shift much on its own, especially once carefully leveled.This isn't difficult to assemble, but the instructions aren't the most clear. (Pictures of the reinforcing corner pieces, for example, appear more than twice as long and skinny as they actually are. Not every piece is labeled, and that's a pair that isn't, so I had to read through to see where the flexible members are used to verify what was intended to go where.) It takes more time than I expected to assemble this. (Around an hour)There are screw holes (threaded in many cases) and some of them need to line up to use those corner braces. The instructions do a good job of calling this out.The kit comes with a little two outlet and two USB port unit, which you can place in various locations. In fact, the kit can be assembled in quite a few different configurations, but they don't try to point that out until the end.As much as it pains me to say this: unless you are quite mechanically inclined, you'll want to read all the way through the instructions at least once before assembling this.The height is pretty good. You can place a shelf at the bottom and put a monitor on top of that, if you were so inclined. You'd get quite a boost in height, that way, which you may well prefer.The kit includes an adhesive RGB LED strip that is powered by USB, so you can spend one of those ports to power that. I didn't install it to the shelf or test the associated app, but you don't need to use the app to set a basic color and use it, which is important. (Can you imagine needing to whip out your phone to turn your lights on and off? No thanks.) It has a few color choices and effects that are pretty simple. The app is supposed to allow you to set nearly any color you want and says it has both Android and iPhone versions. I might play with it later.As a shelf with an integrated outlet, it's not cheap, but it also isn't wildly overpriced. Honestly, if that LED strip is a big deal, the value goes up considerably.

I'm so glad I bought this hutch, despite the negative reviews. It was fairly easy to put together and it all fit together perfectly. I'm a small 70 year old woman and I did it by myself. I found it best to assemble it on the desk where it was going to be, so I didn't have to lift it up after assembly. I think maybe some people don't know how to use cam locks (resulting in the bad reviews). Be sure to tighten the first part (that the cam lock fits in) all the way. But don't over tighten the cam lock, just until it clicks and you feel resistance. It seems to be high quality and sturdy and the wood finish is beautiful. My 22 inch monitor fits perfectly on a 4 inch riser in the largest space. And there is room for books on one of the side shelves. Very happy with this purchase.

It took me about a half hour to put together - all pieces and tools provided, plus extras. One piece chipped off, so screw gently. Definitely made alot more space on my daughter's desk!

Not a friendly manufacturer at all if you need help. No phone # provided. They only use an A I auto text customer support system.Now I have 2 of these shelf’s I can’t use. Please be careful !
