I use this as a DIY lanthanum chloride solution for managing phosphates. You need to be extremely careful dosing this correctly (I dose directly into a skimmer to collect the precipitate at a slow, dilute solution) and you should know the risks it may pose to some fish, but it's worked well for me and less expensive than buying lanthanum reef products.
