This really helps my husband read the newspaper. He has glaucoma and wears glasses but still cant see much. The light lights it up a magnifies, not just one line but several so he can enjoy reading again. Also helpful for me on extremely small print on documents and prescriptions.

It's incredibly useful, and the different modes in the lights are a fantastic feature. Whether you're looking for a steady glow or something more dynamic, this product has you covered. Highly recommend for anyone in need of a practical and versatile gift!

It does not give a huge amount of magnification, but just enough for my husband. He’s had eye surgery and needs just a little bit of a larger print with his iPad. It fits over his iPad perfectly. He is very happy with the results.

After a concussion, my mom needed something to help her eyesight. This is perfect for her. Nice and lightweight, and has a light on it, too. Small enough to tuck into a bag when she' going out, if she wants to take it with her while she shops or out for dinner.

I bought another lighted magnifying glass, but it was a bother. It had a pretty sensitive push button to turn the light on, and I'd always accidentally hit it. Then it had a second blue light that came on when you turned off the white light, and that needed to be turned off with a second click of the button. Which you may not notice the blue light came on, and you have dead batteries when you DO want to use the light. This had a slide switch, and it's solid when you push it on and off. And it only has the white lights, which lights up the page nicely.I gave it a 4 stars for all that, but there was just a tiny spot of distortion, like a ripple inside the glass itself, but not big enough to obscure my view, just noticeable at certain instances, which I deducted a star forOtherwise it's a pretty good glass. I'm considering another to replace the annoying one.UPDATE:OK...I thought I could ignore that distortion, but, no, it got bothersome, so I returned this glass and got replacement - same one.As I thought, it was a defect in the glass on that one, the replacement is fine, no distortion.

Is well made, good finish. The lights are really good. Claimed to be 5x, not really sure about that. And from the presentation, got the impression that it is made in the USA; it's not, it is Chinese. Given that, the "discounted price" is not really so. Got it for about 3500 Rs, a bit overpriced, still.

This is not a technical review of this magnifying glass, but a user review. As I've gotten older, I've finally reached the point where a magnifying glass is often helpful for close or detailed examination of an item, as well as necessary for fine print. Over the past two or three years, I've acquired three or four different magnifying glasses from Amazon. The unit I was using previously did a good job of magnifying and had even LED lighting all around the lens, but was a little unwieldy to use and not particularly well-built--I had frequent problems with the light switch and electrical connections. I also wanted a larger viewing area. Looking for a larger unit, I found this glass--and though it was more costly that my previous one, decided to give it a try. This glass is about 30% larger than my last unit--4 7/8 inch measured diameter of the lens rather than 3 3/4 inch. Although the actual lens magnification is a little less, the field of view is much larger which is what I wanted. it provides a clearer view as well. The lighting on this unit is four bright LEDs at the top of the handle rather than encircling the lens, so it is more localized and not as even as with my other glass, but it is bright and certainly adequate. Although considerably larger, this glass is actually lighter than my previous unit and is easier to hold and handle. It appears to be a better-built unit, and to date I've had no issues with it. The small high-powered "lens within the lens" can be a little difficult to use, but has been helpful on a couple occasions to boost magnification of particularly tiny items. Overall I believe this is a good magnifying glass.

My primary use is not for reading everything all the time, just reading the small and fine print on things when needed. Getting older, these small and fine prints are everywhere and hard to read without magnification. Smaller glasses work fine for me, but I wanted a bigger glass to make it even easier and see more magnified at one time.I was excited to get this 5 inch glass magnifier with tiny extra-magnifier and lights! However, I was greatly disappointed that there was only a 3 inch diameter in the center of the glass that was undistorted, and the other 2 inches beyond that on all sides seems to have 2 large rings of distortion. Since other people's reviews mentioned this distortion, I'm guessing it is poor manufacturing design? I attached some photos that I hope illustrate this better than I can describe it. However, if Amazon servers shrink the photos too small (doesn't allow full sized photo viewing), then it will be hard to see the distortions. Just in case, 1) look for the straight edges in the photo and see how wavy they are and 2) I will also attach a photo of the just the distortion area(s). NOTE: I did not use the magnifier light in any of these photos.Unlike some others, I thought the mini magnifier worked great and I also thought the light worked a lot better than some of the original photos I saw of the light. (Note that to get full magnification you have to have proper distance between the item being magnified and the glass and then between the glass any your eyes). I also liked the large handle and its grip. These competing pros and cons made it hard to decide if I was going to return it or not, but I am pretty sure I am going to return it. Even at the current sale prices, I dont think it is worth the large lens and features when only 3 inches of it is normal. I'll make due with a smaller glass for size efficiency reasons.
