Right now I'm stenciling all of my stepping stones with one of the stencil designs for my outdoor landscape. The stencils are the perfect size for indoor or outdoor projects. After painting the stones black, I added white paint with the stencils and then added a protective coating to them. I used weights to keep the stencils in place while painting but I'm sure painter's tape would have worked as well. They're thicker than some stencils I've purchased and that makes it especially important when I'm washing them, so the points don't break off. With plenty of designs to choose from and the fact that they're sturdy and reusable, I'll find DIY projects for them for years to come.
