This Laser (6678) brake pad thickness gauge is bad.If you do not take the wheel off when using it, the wheel gets in the way of being able to see the reading.It should be about 4 inches longer so that the reading protrudes past the spokes of the wheel and is visible.Either that, or there should be some way of locking the reading in place, so that when you take it away from the brake pad, the spring is unable to put it back to the default reading i,e, you lose the measurement.
