Isn't one of those tools that's an absolute "must-have" just because a tape measure will never go out of style, but this is pretty close. As implied, this a laser measure that uses a beam to give a precise measurement. Runs off a couple AA batteries that are included. Also includes a holster. The game changer aspect is that it holds up to 3 previous measurements and has a function to add or subtract for them for whatever the situation requires. Which is so handy for certain situations of extreme length or total measurements. Really great.

Instructions are difficult to understand.Distance fluctuates without moving the device. I guess it's good for "eyeballing" a distance, but if you want exact measurements, this is not the one.

I am reviewing LAISAI laser measuring tool, which at the time of this review was $16. I have a high end name brand one of these, but I wanted a second one to keep in my tool bag and not worry about it getting a little banged up or potentially stolen from a jobsite. Overall this one works ok; the accuracy is good; I certainly didn't notice any errors when measuring from this and then using my tape measure at the cut station; everything I returned with after cutting fit just fine.The issues I have is I guess I just expected a real time measuring system, but this does not have that. In my other unit, as long as the laser is on, you're getting a real time measurement on the screen, which is nice to help you use the unit to line up with a specific known measurement and then make a mark. This one you have to push a button twice for every measurement and there is no real-time display....that really makes it much less useful for me. I do like that it keeps track of the previous three measurements.Also, for anyone hesitant to buy it based on the apparent size in the photos; don't be alarmed. The photoshop is comically bad here, but it's nowhere near that big and bulky.

It is pretty accurate once you figure out how to use it. It kinda took me sometime to figure it out. So it's a user error. It is very light. As a woman, I do not like throwing my hubands measuring tool in my purse if I need to buy something that i need to measure because it is heavy. This one is so light and small that it fits in my sling purse.

I love this thing. It comes with instructions but I was able to get it to do the measurements without reading. This to me is soo much safer and easier to use that a metal tape ruler. I was standing in my loft, pointed ahead, got the distance, then pointed to the right of me and the distance was added together for the square measurement that I wanted. My husband loves this too and we can totally share.This makes measuring how ever you need it done, inside or outside done in a snap. I like that it comes with fresh batteries and a nice little case that can easily attach to your tool belt. Very giftable if your tool loving person doesn't have this yet. The numbers were very easy to read on the screen.
