The lid sits on top but does not secure to the cup provided. It will fall of the first time you use it. You can however buy another water bottle/coffee mug that has the same diameter lid and use double sided tape to secure this lid to the new one and then insert it into your new mug. Good quality video as long as you have enough light. Does not do well in low lit area. Battery lasts really good. I realize that there are shipping problems these days but $400 is outrageous for this product. I paid about $120 maybe 2 years ago. Bottom line with these cameras is they are made cheaply and if you actually use them frequently your lucky to get two years out of them. But if you need it it will work for you.

This thing is amazing! I use it for PI work and absolutely love it. Easy to use, quality video and covert! Fantastic product.
